A notice about Rule 3 regarding sites hosting pirated/unauthorized content has been made. Please see here for details.
Staff is working to deal with the problem of synonymous tags. See here for more information and to suggest tag mergers.
Due to issues with external spam filters, QQ is currently unable to send any mail to Microsoft E-mail addresses. This includes any account at live.com, hotmail.com or msn.com.
Signing up to the forum with one of these addresses will result in your verification E-mail never arriving. For best results, please use a different E-mail provider for your QQ address.
For prospective new members, a word of warning: don't use common names like Dennis, Simon, or Kenny if you decide to create an account. Spammers have used them all before you and gotten those names flagged in the anti-spam databases. Your account registration will be rejected because of it.
Since it has happened MULTIPLE times now, I want to be very clear about this. You do not get to abandon an account and create a new one. You do not get to pass an account to someone else and create a new one. If you do so anyway, you will be banned for creating sockpuppets.
Due to the actions of particularly persistent spammers and trolls, we will be banning disposable email addresses from today onward.
Also, and I know I should leave it alone, it would not be "They have a pocket" the euphemism is generally "They have a hand in your pocket" because that was a favorite of my grandpa's. He was talking about feather merchants. (politicians)
I do find it weird how people jealously guard their AI generation keywords. Honestly a lot of them don't make sense to me. I read the prompt gens and I'm like "Yup, that's word vomit alright"
The inevitable maiming in historical SI's.
Be it the Anakin eye scar, loss of use of an arm, an eye being taken out entirely, I've noticed it always happens.
I don't care for it.
I've noticed a lot of people bumping dead fics and being asked "Please don't do that" because it sends an alert.
I also get a LOT of alerts, and most of them are user replies, not chapter updates. Would it be possible to part the two? I know the alert ones for chapter say "Author has added x.xk...
Sphere.
One thing that bugs me is there are rolls that are utterly incompatible with the worlds they are written in, but authors kind of write like their hand is forced? Like if you roll Tokyo ghoul and it would be a death sentence in say, The West Wing, maybe reroll and call it a mulligan...
Even microsoft runs scam ads in their own app. I know QQ is not beholden to advertisers, just that they tightened the snare on everybody else.
But I am glad that Mastercard does not get to flex on QQ. Hooray!
I'm not even talking about liability; I'm talking about skittish webhosts.
I did find it funny that BREIN once siezed a server that had a demonoid sticker from a hosting rack.
It was just a sticker, the rack did not contain any demonoid files. I wonder how that shook out.
I find it funny that most of the complaints are about edge cases and legality.
Both are irrelevant.
To reduce risk and yes LIABILITY to the site, the mods have decided to implement rules. You don't have to ENJOY said rules but ignoring them is at YOUR peril.
For instance, if the mods were to...
Crypto is stupid. I don't care how much people make off it. Still stupid.
You know full well they will rubber hose the problem. "Can't track the signal" will end in "We are in your home; we have a gun on you. How clever do you feel right now, one to ten?" (Weirdly enough this is politics...
Could also be someone who wants the site restricted, but that's me interpreting it through a malice lens. Note the message count.
I will admit, someone coming into a message board and saying "Hey, set up a payment processing system" is wild.
Like yeah, sure, should only take five minutes. Oh...
Discussion is the source of wit, but sometimes I don't have time for it.
Sometimes when I hit reader mode, I still get the discussion after chapters. What's up with that?
Generally, on desktop, mobile honestly behaves itself better.
Same time, sometimes I don't want the discussion, just the...
