Harbinger Ace
I am the last Harbinger. The bringer of death; the destroyer of worlds. I bring vengeance and revolution, but also peace and calm.
For all of time, solitude has been my domain. I never knew social norms, I never understood trends, I never fell in line with the populace. My life was forfeit from the very beginning. Enjoyment was not to be a factor.
Now, I walk these desolate worlds without love; without companionship. I seek not the common desires of mankind; societal acceptance, friendship, fulfillment, of lust or so on. I never fit in, I was never accepted; acceptance is most improbable.
The light is always painted as the good, the way, the shining light, the beacon of hope. It illuminates the darkness, the "filth" which is claimed to desecrate all that which is good. Those with power point into the darkness and mock its very existence, instructing their followers to do the same.
Who is evil? Light, or dark? Well, which obscures itself from view? The darkness, surely. But, why does the light shine in, revealing it? That is because the darkness does not obscure itself. It welcomes change, it welcomes difference. The light, on the other hand, implants a single viewpoint into those of its dwelling, casting blame into the darkness for all which is wrong. A new question arises: What lies within the light? What is behind which casts its stellar flame?
I offer a recommendation, one to settle which may not be clear:
Turn around.
