Due to issues with external spam filters, QQ is currently unable to send any mail to Microsoft E-mail addresses. This includes any account at live.com, hotmail.com or msn.com.
Signing up to the forum with one of these addresses will result in your verification E-mail never arriving. For best results, please use a different E-mail provider for your QQ address.
For prospective new members, a word of warning: don't use common names like Dennis, Simon, or Kenny if you decide to create an account. Spammers have used them all before you and gotten those names flagged in the anti-spam databases. Your account registration will be rejected because of it.
Since it has happened MULTIPLE times now, I want to be very clear about this. You do not get to abandon an account and create a new one. You do not get to pass an account to someone else and create a new one. If you do so anyway, you will be banned for creating sockpuppets.
Due to the actions of particularly persistent spammers and trolls, we will be banning disposable email addresses from today onward.
The rules regarding NSFW links have been updated. See here for details.
I’m pretty sure it’s actually on by default? At least, I never enabled it and yet I’m still gonna have to unwatch this thread if I don’t want it in my notifications.
I wonder if this might depend on the date you joined? The default might change?
Yeah, unless I’m misreading, then I think the official position of the mod team here is pretty clearly “No, you cannot post links to deleted stories/fics nor can you shamelessly tell people where to find them, as that would be a dick move and therefore against Rule 1.”
Not exactly hard to...
I think the crucial difference here is that it’s usually the companies behind the streaming services removing them, not any of the actual creatives responsible for creating the show or movie. Often you’ll even see the creators of the show or movie upset about its deletion.
But that’s not quite...
…alright dude, this is some word salad nonsense, you’re mad that someone deleted smut you liked. Nevertheless, I will do my best to interpret this absurdity.
I’m gonna try and put this as simply as possible. When I write my kinky smut, or even my fun Star Trek fanfiction, I am not...
Except the title of this thread calls them “Turncoats,” as if they betrayed us somehow, when that’s not at all the case.
Not to mention the more blatantly vitriolic reasoning of:
Which definitely reads as taking it personally, as if they felt entitled to the works of the author, somehow.
But...
I feel like, based on the original post and thread title, that this whole thing is coming from a place of vitriol and a weird parasocial attachment to authors. If an author decides to delete their fanfiction, that is their business, not their reader’s. I don’t really see a point in trying to...
I know I just posted more of Star Trek: The Fractured Frontier, and I was planning on writing more to make that hit 30K for NaNo, but one of my horses is dying, so I probably won’t be writing today. Maybe not tomorrow either. I’m sorry for the delay.
Maybe eventually. I’m not currently feeling up to writing any quests that are super involved and story and lore heavy.
That’s the reason Krakoa quest is such a quick and easy thing to write.
Yeah, I mean, at a certain point, I have to point out that it does seem like this type of anti-LGBTQ bigotry just gets to slide under the radar a lot. I can easily understand OPs reasoning for posting this thread, this isn’t exactly an uncommon thing. And it certainly wasn’t a minor case, it...
Either Visa and Mastercard are lying, or the…dozens upon dozens of sites that have been forced to scale back NSFW content because of things like this are lying.
Hmmmm. I wonder which one it is?
If I recall correctly, last time something similar came up, the answer was “Only if you have the author’s express permission.”
But I could be misremembering. Not that…I mean, bluntly put, if you were going to re upload missing stories…AO3 would probably be a safer, more accessible, and more...
I apologize for my lack of activity this month, I have been alternating between sick and busy for the past few weeks. And without enough spare time to write more than maybe 300 words at a time, I decided to plan out a Metroid/Mass Effect story as a thought experiment, and now I wanna actually...
OTW has stated they will not be complying with the UKs request, I believe. They aren’t at the mercy of payment processors because they are a non profit, and they take donations more or less for the sole purpose of running the site and having lawyers for these sorts of things, to my understanding.
OP mentioned multicross, so I’ll take it a step further. I usually just drop any story that crosses DC and Marvel.
Look, I like both worlds, they are both interesting. You know what else they both are? Chock full of characters. Usually the only thing you get out of crossing those worlds...
Looks like it’s another stare at my keyboard for hours without typing day. Grrr. Probably doesn’t help that I’m constantly trying to decide between more of my DC story, my Fire Emblem story, or a Marvel story that I really don’t need to start.
Screw it, I’m just gonna play Pokemon and watch...
