We've issued a clarification on our policy on AI-generated work.
QuestionableQuesting has new Moderator positions. To submit your application, please see this thread.
Due to issues with external spam filters, QQ is currently unable to send any mail to Microsoft E-mail addresses. This includes any account at live.com, hotmail.com or msn.com.
Signing up to the forum with one of these addresses will result in your verification E-mail never arriving. For best results, please use a different E-mail provider for your QQ address.
For prospective new members, a word of warning: don't use common names like Dennis, Simon, or Kenny if you decide to create an account. Spammers have used them all before you and gotten those names flagged in the anti-spam databases. Your account registration will be rejected because of it.
Since it has happened MULTIPLE times now, I want to be very clear about this. You do not get to abandon an account and create a new one. You do not get to pass an account to someone else and create a new one. If you do so anyway, you will be banned for creating sockpuppets.
Due to the actions of particularly persistent spammers and trolls, we will be banning disposable email addresses from today onward.
The rules regarding NSFW links have been updated. See here for details.
Enough. Cease about SB Moderation. As has been said, and will now be said in moderator colors, if you want to talk about SB Moderation, take it to the SB Rants thread.
Nope, as the forum grows, the amount of mod work that needs doing increases, and thus this current process.
I don't believe you would be unable to perform mod duties using only mobile, though sometimes you will need to post longform messages or similar, so mobile might not be the best fit (then...
I typically put in 15-30 min per day in moderation activities, though sometimes it spikes as need arises.
Some days I put in no time, some I put in a bunch.
As far as what moderator duties are, there are two main duties the line staff do (though, this is not everything):
-Approve/Deny first...
The issue with requiring the disclosure? Even if we, the staff, cared (and we don't), there is no easy way to determine AI use. And thus, enforcement is impossible. And thus, there is no way we will require it.
The main reason we put this up is that we were seeing witchhunts and harassment...
You can post here if you want. You could also report a post in your thread and ask for the poll to be deleted. Either works!
Also, the poll is now gone.
That very much sounds like something on the browser level is clearing out cookies every 5 days or so. If it is one of the major browsers, I don't think they would be doing that, but it might be one of your add-ons/extensions that is doing it. Maybe some privacy one?
I mean, it isn't the same as a button, but if you go to the IRC Help page (https://forum.questionablequesting.com/help/irchelp/), there is a link to a web portal to the irc room.
