Since it has happened MULTIPLE times now, I want to be very clear about this. You do not get to abandon an account and create a new one. You do not get to pass an account to someone else and create a new one. If you do so anyway, you will be banned for creating sockpuppets.
Due to the actions of particularly persistent spammers and trolls, we will be banning disposable email addresses from today onward.

Two of them, the hyperdrive and the superluminal drive, while only having been pushed to 6 parsecs per week & 7 parsecs per week respectively, are different from both jump drives & KF drives in that their drive numbers indicate speed, not range.
What this means is that in both cases, at high...
People here should read Agent of the Imperium by Marc Miller if you want to get a taste of what the 3rd Imperium is like. This is several thousand years in the future of the era when this story takes place but it shows what the "canon" timeline eventually became you could say.
You know, what if Sophie invents nuclear dampers here at least 2 tech levels or so before they appear in Traveller canon? :D Some breakthrough on physics on her end or someone builds off of it or something :D
Been reading Interstellar Wars again and it mentions plagues that occurred right after the 3rd Interstellar War:
Have the Terrans already dealt with this? Because maybe Sophie could help develop advanced medicines or ideas regarding disease treatment or other things as well.
The arbitrary start date for the Twilight and then the Long Night is around 2744 AD (-1776 Imperial):
The "-1776" year you see is measured from the 3rd Imperium's perspective (i.e. 2744 AD occurred 1776 years before the 3rd Imperium formed). The Rule of Man/Second Imperium was formed in 2316 AD.
Basically a psionic wave emanating from the Coreward region of space at about the speed of light, IIRC, that causes those with psionic powers to burnout and/or die and cause most people on a planet to go crazy for awhile (before the madness fades). The problem is that this madness often results...
Thankfully, while GURPS Traveller setting is part of the Infinite Worlds, neither it not Traveller ever really featured those kind of crazy Cthulhu-style super eldritch abomination races.
So no need to worry about about the Cthulhu Mythos, the Red Kings, & the Ancient Ones. And well with the...
They'll need to build a lot of them. Be dense for their size. That's how the Chatterweb came about IIRC. Basically small territory and tons of HPG infrastructure.
Honestly maybe the Long Night may be averted or weakened here. Even in canon Traveller history, not all worlds fell apart. Some...
This sounds like it would be a job for Mass Effect QECs or something since they're instantaneous, unjammable, & can connect from any distance as long as the working pair of particles is still connected.
Eh black boxes had the problem that after extended use, they fucked over hyperspace enough...
The Terran Confederation doesn't need BT fusion reactors and engines. They already have reactionless engines and advanced fusion reactors. They just need to beat the Vilani by advancing their grav tech so they'll have flying armored vehicles and such.
Remember, at like TL9-10 (I can't remember...
I guess? But it's kind of funny how quickly everyone improved upon the Standard Stealth armor the Nighthawk used and just a few years later developed Improved Stealth armor for battle armor. Heck there's an Elemental armor (the Elemental III) with Standard Stealth armor (the same type as the...
Yeah but frankly, everyone has built better than the Nighthawk by the Jihad->Republic/Dark Age->IlClan eras. As in full battle armors with stealth armor beyond what the Nighthawk used.
That's honestly a good question. I do know later tech level Traveller armor, like say Superdense, Bonded Superdense, & Coherent Superdense armor all rely on gravity manipulation and electrical manipulation in order to be created.
For those unfamiliar, Superdense armor is very much like Mass...
Nice. While Cepheus Engine is a fork of Mongoose Traveller 1e (the Pathfinder to its 3.5 you could say), one thing I do like is the extensive support for 3rd party campaign settings which are often pretty different from the Charted Space setting.
Traveller 5th Edition had an...interesting development I recall. And yes the core rulebook is not really liked either.
Do you go with GURPS Traveller and/or Mongoose Traveller mostly?
