Lorien Ashford, a Beyonder of Sequence 9: Lawyer, is the owner of the Ashford Law Firm and a barrister in the Cherwood borough. After two years as a Sequence 9 Beyonder, he suddenly lost control for unknown reasons, and another person transmigrated, taking over his body. Now, the new Lorien must survive in this world, having read both LOTM 1 and LOTM: COI, while being immune to corruption related to the knowledge from the books. Surviving should be really easy - barely an inconvenience.

This story is about the Pathway of Anarchy. There will be spoilers for Book 2, as In, MC will be mentioning things from Book 2, as well as lore about the Sefirots, the Western Continent, and more.

What kind of feature of the Sefirot do you think Lorien should unlock after reaching the eighth step or more? I have some ideas, but I'd love to hear your thoughts as well.
I have no idea lol. Creating his own gathering in the Sefirot sounds interesting, but unless you want to bloat the cast with OCs the most interesting people will already be Tarot Club members in the future. Maybe as he advances he could influence those of the Anarchy group? He definitely needs to steal the Black Emperor Card though. Thanks for the chapter!

I'm absolutely loving this fic so far, it captures the feel of the OG story while slowly diverging off the exact canon path.

Since the Lorien seems to be aiming to become The Anarchy, will he also try to accommodate the SOC to also control the Chaos Mist Pathway?

Since it's the 3rd pathway under Anarchy and synergies really well with the Black Emperor and Justiciar pathways.

Also what would the Mythical Creature form look like?

Black Emperor is a Curly Haired Baboon, Justiciar is a giant Brass Pillar with other characteristics and Chaos Mist pathway is a shifting fog.

Thank you, your compliment means a lot to me.

Yes, I'm planning to make him SOC, With the help of Klein and the others, it's possible.

Also what would the Mythical Creature form look like?

Black Emperor is a Curly Haired Baboon, Justiciar is a giant Brass Pillar with other characteristics and Chaos Mist pathway is a shifting fog.

To me, it's a giant curly-haired baboon with massive wings on its back, made of countless wiggling eyes that gaze at everything with judgment.

It wears a blindfold while holding a sword in one hand and a balancing scale made of shifting, chaotic pale-white mist in the other.

It is dressed in a crisp three-piece suit, which shifts into armor with a jagged crown on its head. The next second, it transforms into the robes of a judge.

Every part of its body releases chaotic pale-white mist with an ethereal golden glow.

BTW, I'm going with the Justiciar pathway's Mythical creature form being a royal Griffin, since it fits way too much, with the black emperor being a Baboon.

A Special area where he can "review over case details". Basically, whenever he reads or hears of an incident or event, the Sefirot automatically constructs a "mock-up board" containing the details of the event. Each "image" pinned to the board Lorien is able to enter and look at as if he were there himself.

Within an image, Lorien is able to physically see the "uncertainties" of the event. For example, if he hears about a man shooting another, Lorien would be able to "see" the uncertainty. The more detail he discovers, the less the Uncertain Mist (ba dum tss) covers the image. The image may also reveal things Lorien might not have known about where the incident took place in. For example, if Lorien just heard about a "shooting in X borough", the image would show where the incident happened, in this example it was "outside Y/N's building". Lorien is also able to simulate the situation, like starting and stopping a video (think of the BD sequences in Cyberpunk 2077, thats how I imagine this function).

Once Lorien has amassed enough details, he can replay the entire scene with perfect accuracy within his mind.

This place also stores dossiers about the people within the events/incidents, and Lorien can only "register" an incident into this space once every two days due to Spirituality limitations.

An example of this would be Saga Anderson's Mind Palace from Alan Wake 2.

Perfect for a Lawyer, and this removes the limitation of Lorien unable to be a Solicitor. Ironically, he'd be a better solicitor due to this space.

Eyyy, new chapter!

Sadly my Mind Palace idea didn't make an appearance. I was mainly aiming to enhance Lorien's Lawyer traits instead of the Barbarian ones...

But hey, I still have hope! Nice chapter, the politics in this story are very fleshed out; as expected for a Black Emperor story.

And, since Lorien got led into the Tarot Club, I can now legally say: "Can't wait for the next tarot club meeting".

I like the direction this is going, with political intrigues and as he advances his Sequence more ruling and imposing his 'order' on Lorien's part. Thanks for the chapter!

Oh, I'm going to use your idea, It gave my brain a blast of ideas at how he can use it. I just only need a good place to implement it.

Btw does Lorien have any idea about raising some cash? Because while the law firm is indeed a good cash cow if he wants to enter politics and buy Beyonder ingredients he needs much more money than he has now

I'm planning him to invest in the Coim Company, as well as the Bike company, the basic stuff. He could also discreetly sell the Potion formulas he remembers whenever he requires money.

Hmm... All i can say is that there is no errors i can detect🧐. This is peak writing once again...

The problem was one thing - his Barbarian acting method... As far as he understood, a Barbarian should be direct and act decisively. This method of delaying made him feel uncomfortable.

[...]

But now, facing the unknown excited him. He recalled that Barbarians in past-life games loved adventure and combat. Perhaps it was a natural inclination toward facing danger.
If I had to guess what the Barbarian acting method is: "Don't talk, just act". Barbarian is from the greek for people they don't understand (I think it meant something like 'People who go "Bar Bar"'). And if we think about what we now a days call "barbaric", it often describes someone acting against cultural norms, so what could be more barbaric than not even stopping to talk to someone to learn about their culture/norms/beliefs and just acting?

Now that I written it out I realize that you could very well confuse someone with giving them the clue "just acting" for improving their Barbarian pathway, since they would go "what do you mean I already know about the acting method" not realizing that the clue was to "take actions".

Warning: It Contains Corruption, if you're not High Sequence beyonder yet. Do not read this.

It was a great day for Lorien.

Finally, he had advanced to a demigod.

As a demigod, on the one hand, he was conflicted. In every other fiction, he knew that being powerful was a safety net. But this world was cursed. The more you fucking advance, the more you have to worry about being replaced.

The murmuring had gotten stronger. Along with the usual Will of the Great Primordial One, he also had to go against the Will of the Celestial Worthy of Heaven and Earth.

And like Klein, he also had a massive responsibility since he was an owner of the Sefirah as well. Ending the Apocalypse - or at least halting it enough for Earth to give birth to all the Above the Sequence - fell on him.

But he didn't need to worry about that right now.

After Duke Negan's death, the Conservatives were in an uproar, but with his help and some political maneuvering, he calmed them down and secured his place among the nobility.

Now, he just needed to wait for George III to fail his apotheosis ritual and take advantage of the chaos to gain more control over the nation.

"You've been worrying a lot lately."

His wife entered the reception room. (He doesn't have a wife… Does he?)

Her name was… something on the tip of his tongue. She looked really beautiful. She had a gentle yet captivating aura, the kind that made people instinctively trust her. She also had a healthy baby bump.

It had been seven months since his wife conceived his child.

It's just that she always had this annoying habit of wearing a monocle.

After talking for a while, he suddenly felt something he couldn't quite grasp.

His instincts told him that something was wrong.

"Darling, I will be going to the firm… Okay, tell August if you need anything."

Saying that, he kissed his wife, left the villa reluctantly, and went to his old office at the Ashford Law Firm.

After getting there, he met all of his old colleagues, and for a moment, he nearly forgot why he was here.

Lorien entered his office and performed the ritual. He entered the Sefirah. The familiar murmuring and endless mist greeted him.

Then, he appeared in front of the nine stone steps. He walked up to the fourth step.

After advancing to the demigod level, he had unlocked the ability to look into the world from the Sefirah.

Being curious about that strange feeling earlier, he looked down at the world, specifically his house. He swiped his vision over it—

Suddenly, his spirituality pinged and warned him not to look at his wife, or there was a great chance of losing control.

"Shit, did she get corrupted by an Outer God?"

Concerned, he entered cogitation and calmed his soul down. After that, he peeked at where his wife was - and instead of his wife, he saw a young man with black eyes and curly black hair. He had a broad forehead and a thin face. It was Amon - except his belly was bulging as if he were pregnant.

The pregnant Amon looked at the sky, rubbed his round belly, then pinched his crystal monocle with his right hand as he said, "Interesting."

"Oh fuck no…"

Lorien's eyes snapped open.

"Fuck!" He woke up from the nightmare.

'Is my spirituality warning me?

Marrying? Dating? Wha's that? I don't care about anyone other than myself. Everything is fiction. Hahaha.'

"I'm never going to forget that, am I?" he said in a low and defeated voice.

But of course, my Sequence and humanity are higher than yours, peasant...

*But in reality, he was born a mythical creature - the curly-haired baboon. He didn't even understand what he wrote.*

Just realised that if he wants to become Black Emperor then Roselle is dead for good since it was the only way to bring him back normally.

Bernadette probably won't be happy with that

No, he's going to jump to the Justiciar pathway later. And after he gains full control over the Sefirah, he could revive Roselle with some asspull - like using the authority of the Sefirah to forcefully resurrect Roselle with the uniqueness. The only reason the OG Celestial Thearch couldn't do it was that he wasn't the owner of the Sefirah, just a proxy.

He's gonna need to do it before he reaches Black Emperor otherwise the characteristics will go to him and Roselle cooked.

Yes. He needs to jump to other pathway at sequence 1 at the very least. Since having the sequence 1 characteristics in his body, he would have to feel the characteristics forcefully separate - like what happened with Tudor and Trunsoest when Solomon revived himself.

And here i thought you were losing interest and then you dropped this chunky monster haha amazing chapter almost felt like CF was writing it

As Emperor Roselle once said

I swear, every time I see someone say something smart or profound or even a little proverb in the novel I always expect those words afterwards lmao
Klein struggled to keep his expression neutral. Luckily, the gray fog concealed his face
Hello God of Poverty
Lorien wasn't short on money at the moment
He will if he keeps spending like this lol
Lorien got way too into his desire for a transforming weapon, which might have dropped a hint to Klein about his transmigrator status. But Klein just waved it away as a "Coincidence."
I wonder what Klein will think when Lorien starts calling himself a genius, billionaire, playboy, philanthropist

Thanks for the meaty chapter!
