Would be funny if shiro gets infected with some of the golden madness, after a few years of glorious exposure of course. A build up of crazy things that slowly but surely shift her sensibilities into something a bit different.

You know, I can't help but think that for Shiro's victory performance, she makes and sings her family's restaurant ad jingle. No, wait! I can't help but think that she makes an entire advertisement film live on stage, to everyone's befuddlement! Though, that's probably not what she'll do until she decides to be a little silly.

Having her "save" the restaurant would be nice, but at the same time I'm not sure if she wants to give away her home address to possible stalkers and degenerate gamblers. Especially since its been hinted that she might end up a "villain" horse i.e. Rice Shower.

Really thinking about it Umamusume combines idol fan culture with sports bettors which I'm sure is a combo that only leads to totally normal, kind people.
 
Caught up now! This one gives off the immediate scent of being special, and it sits inside a subgenre I am fond of: Tanya Gets To Fucking Relax And Become Who She Wants To Be. Best accentuated by the recurring theme of everyone waiting for Tanya to find that burning desire inside her, to wield more than just discipline.

I do hope something happens soon, because she is a robot quite often and she's at her best when her past lives poke in and people react to that.

Shirogane glanced into the window glass, focusing on her reflection. The wings did look pretty good, the white color matching her stretch of paler hair towards her forehead and making her look more symmetrical. They also made her look a few centimeters taller.

"See! Much less intimidating!"

She would have to test this out with someone not inherently biased. Not to mention that Tracen students would likely not be so easily startled.

"I never did figure out why most umamusume only wear ornaments on one ear," Grandmother muttered to herself. "It looks quite unbalanced."

Also this is one of the greatest bits I've ever read, Tanya getting both gender signifiers because she has been both a boy and a girl in her past lives. Absolutely brilliant, 11/10, no notes.

Waffles, just recently got into the horsegirl anime so I binged through this last night and enjoyed the hell out of it. You're doing an especially good job with pacing and characterization. As for Rudolf's take on Shirogane's lack of motivation...

Take that girl to see a race and let her have that special moment of experiencing the passion first-hand.

It'd be a funny quirk if Shirogane's brand of uma-weirdness was she could see the zone as a literal thing, instead of it being a visual metaphor for them locking the fuck in.

I really liked this idea, but then I realized that she might actually kill Dicta Striker in the middle of a race. Dicta Striker has suffered enough already.
