Questionable Questing

But he's so uneducated, like all ninja are, having no high school or college, so he probably couldn't break out of the medieval mindset of "ninjas are tools", "mission above your life", "loyalty to clients", etc. which is what would corner him into being so hopeless that he didn't even save Haku.

Alternatively, he's a tsundere for Haku...

But anyway, it's really weird to see people writing him in this Wave Country Arc as actually trying to kill their MC or whatever, he's just so sad, I can't see him actually killing anyone lmao

It's cuz I read this story set in the Water Tribe Kirigakure, and boy, it's just so hopeless and sad, though this is not entirely thanks to the early Naruto narrative setting but because the writer used the later settings, such as Obito pulling puppet strings to make things as shitty as possible in that place.

This MC had the girl he liked betray him for another boy, only to find out she sacrificed herself to save the MC because that other boy is like the son of a psycho bitch jonin who is part of one of those major clans or whatever, and he hated MC because girls in the class liked MC, so the girl was using a slow compound poison on the boy, but

because the MC thought he was betrayed by the girl who seemed to like him, was saved by him, and grew up with him, he kind of lashed out at her, causing her slow acting compound poison to trigger ahead of time, causing her to be found out, causing the boy who wanted to kill MC to be saved, and causing the girl to have her 4 limbs cut off and nailed to a stake

and like, everyone in Kirigakure just kind of looked on and watched as this all happened because no one has "good emotions" in the village anymore, no one cared about anyone else in a friendship sense anymore, and everyone was like "oh, it's the tenth one this week" or something, and it's like, wow that place is depressed and fucked up

which got me thinking that Zabuza was, as this story depicts, depressed to the point of suicide, his assassination on the Mizukage was probably his cry to the village to wake up and a suicide attempt, but it failed, so he didn't feel any reason for living afterwards. I don't mean it's an absolute thing, since canon didn't depict this, but it's so reasonable that this is how things are, you know?
