Yukimaru's seal for Isobu is actually designed in such a way that, under normal circumstances, absolutely no contact would occur between the jinchuuriki and the bijuu, chakra or mental. As noted before, he actually uses his weiiiird powers, bolstered by the metaphysically negative distance between him and Isobu, to summon chakra from isobu into his coils.

The only reason he's a chakra monster is that the seal eats his chakra continually, storing some of it in a way that he can optionally use, up to a point...but mostly just continually adding an unnecessary extra layer of security to the seal.

And yeah, Yukimaru is Isobu's jinchuuriki in this context. He was noted to have the highest compatibility. With the seal, they were actually hoping to NOT have to deal with actual jinchuuriki powers and instability that generation. They ended up having to deal with the powers anyways, because his compatibility was too high.

Actually had to reverse engineer the coral creation and control, though. Can't get a special power from the bijuu automatically if you're not...actually in any contact with it at all, save for your weird ass power to call on it.

They end up doing the pseudo-jinchuuriki thing...but purely because it's useful to the recipients. Yukimaru can hardly even feel the chakra at long distances. Wouldn't supply it at all if he couldn't feel the three tails being replenished to the normal level every time.
