  • An addendum to Rule 3 regarding fan-translated works of things such as Web Novels has been made. Please see here for details.
  • Due to issues with external spam filters, QQ is currently unable to send any mail to Microsoft E-mail addresses. This includes any account at live.com, hotmail.com or msn.com. Signing up to the forum with one of these addresses will result in your verification E-mail never arriving. For best results, please use a different E-mail provider for your QQ address.
  • For prospective new members, a word of warning: don't use common names like Dennis, Simon, or Kenny if you decide to create an account. Spammers have used them all before you and gotten those names flagged in the anti-spam databases. Your account registration will be rejected because of it.
  • Since it has happened MULTIPLE times now, I want to be very clear about this. You do not get to abandon an account and create a new one. You do not get to pass an account to someone else and create a new one. If you do so anyway, you will be banned for creating sockpuppets.
  • Due to the actions of particularly persistent spammers and trolls, we will be banning disposable email addresses from today onward.
  • The rules regarding NSFW links have been updated. See here for details.

Questionable Questing

I can share with you my opinion why it happened based on my personal experience.

Main reason is of course Character Creation. If a character that you don't like won the first voting it's very likely someone will drop this quest.

Half of 60 people won their vote... Is it so much to ask for 20 of that total group to actually stick around?

Second reason at least for me is direction story is going and present itself. Sometimes opening post might make people think that tone and themes of your quest will be different from what you'll be writing in next updates.
Imabot

To put it simply. Your quest might not have manage to live up to some people expectations they had for this quest.

Then... maybe Speak up?

Let the author know you were looking for something? I'm just sick and tired of making games and then no one show up after getting my hopes up.

Honestly, I have no idea how the fuck that happened at all. It's pretty well done to me, so...I honestly don't know. It's happened before to me at times too, voters just up and not appearing, but never this quickly!
Xicree
Xicree
Yeah, and I keep hearing 'I don't know It looks good to me'... which just makes me even MORE frustrated because if people didn't like it I'd at least have a bloody clue.
Imabot

Well. Main problem with speaking up, is that voters might want to have something diffident from author vision and preferences. So out of politeness or lazies they keep their mouth shut.

Would any of you dedicate your precious time to writing a quest you can't really like and enjoy as QM?

Running something I don't like is bad... But seeing something you Want to run flop for no discernible reason out right makes you not want to write anything else.

Man, people can be jerks.
Imabot

Yes they are. Such is the human nature. I can't tell you to continue to write or drop it. It entirely your decision if you let this get to you and give up on writing.
