Konoha's a society built around tribalistic families that can't manage real harmony even if they ever fucking tried. Three of the clans are united in a power bloc, one of them is internally divided, and one of them is literally a family of insect hives.

To be fair, Konoha's citizenry is HEAVILY influenced by senju blood. The senju name died of outmarriage, they basically dissolved into the general populace.

Now, Iwa is far more stable and centralized. The benefit of having a single strong leader.

They most likely also have decent mineral resources, that go right into their military supply lines.

Earth Country's big. Only Wind is bigger, and that's mostly desert.

They're also close to Iron, but they don't have as much trade as Kumo. Suna and Konoha on their borders, so they probably don't like having those two Villages allied.

I daresay Earth country has fertile land in its heart, as well. Possibly something to do with Ninjutsu to work the soil.

Kumo's the village that properly integrated it's jinchuuriki resources, though. Iwa and Mist both had one who just wandered off, Suna only has the weakest, most insane ones...

It's funny cause the reason that Sand sided with Sound during the invasion is because they weren't getting much business from their daimyo.

Meanwhile, a minor village in Konoha's sphere of influence gets to have one, despite fully two great villages each only having one. Konoha didn't even HAVE one by design, it took Madara being a shit for that to happen.
