If you think about it, some boys in anime start early. Like, in HxH, Gon is actually a player who'd been flirting with sailor girls all his life. Or Gary Oak, who's sleeping with five girls and drives a sports car at ten years old. But then you have the dense harem protag, who normalizes being emotionally stupid, instead of being like Gon or Gary. Sad.
