Questionable Questing

Hmm...
What's the basic idea you've got that you want to build up?
I'm kinda inconsistent and easily driven on tangents when worldbuilding, so if you're looking for someone to help you bring an idea to fruition, you probably won't get the meat of what you wanted if it's just me you ask.

Oh I just wanted a fun little talk with someone.

So the idea is a fantasy setting with a magocracy in control. Things would be ruled by the council of mages and each area would have it's own department.

And then there's the eldritch abominations to mention. They're not evil, they actually like us. At least in the same way we like cows and chickens and forests. Not that they just want to eat us, they do free off our sanity but they see us as infinitely lesser beings cursed to be just smart enough to suffer. Limited to only a few dimensions and such pastry rules as logic or physics.

The eldritch beings wander the world, sometimes settling down other times just traveling, occasionally in human guise but not always.

Eh, not really my cup of tea.

Oh? Can you say why?

That whole thing doesn't describe the kind of fantasy setting I like. Unless it's a porn setting or a dumb joke I'm making, I basically prefer low fantasy stories with weird interpretations on standard tropes - in the vein of Dwarf Fortress' elves. Magocracies and loads of cthulhus aren't really interesting.

Not loads of Cthulhus. Just a few, some are in remote areas others populated ones.

The mages aren't too powerful, enough for manipulating the elements, enchanting things, setting up defensive wards and so on.

Still not interesting.
If the mages are only that powerful, for that matter, the idea of them forming the government is kinda dumb.
