I found a interesting german historical character from discord talk here.
Lettow Vorbeck was way beyond his time from what little I know about the details. The man that says, "Go Fuck Yourself" to Hitler in his retiring years
Man was a lot more willing to treat the locals in the colonies with respect and not make assumptions that they're simple or idiots that need to be taught by their betters
