Questionable Questing

I'm still trying to work out some of the specifics. I really want to try and integrate some of the numerology the catholic church had into the Faith of the Seven and I'm trying to find a good way to introduce it.

If you don't know what numerology is, it basically means that some religions think that different numbers are holy or unholy, like 666, 616, 333, 7, 9, for Christianity and they like to introduce these numbers into their architecture and art.

Like a great example is the Hagia Sophia, which has its inside shaped like a cross and has seven towers to represent the seven virtues and seven sins. plus the mosaic artwork inside has very simple faces and very simple designs despite how extravagantly their decorated with literal gold and diamond encrusted engravings around it.

And why that is in orthodox Christianity, it was considered a sin to make art of depicting the face of Jesus and other holy figures. Now that believe had kind of fallen off by the time the twelfth and thirteen century rolled around when the Hagia Sophia was built, But the influence that believe had was that their murals and faces tended to be more simplistic in design.

Anyway, sorry if I'm nerding out a little bit. I've been studying the influence religion has had on architecture and its giving me some idea's on how I want to portray it. in my story
Bob is bob
Bob is bob
I know of the sacred numbers but I always avoid it as I ain't big into math

Why couldn't the face of jesus and other holy figures be drawn?

Oh no prob, do go on about you want to use architecture in your story

Why Jesus was not allowed to be drawn? Same reason why Muslim's don't like Muhammad or Allah to be drawn. The idea is that god is so great and so far removed from what humans can comprehend that drawing him would be drawing a pale imitation. The fear was also that a drawing could be turned into an idol which was considered pegan.

As for how all this is important to my story a great example I have is that when priest of the Church of the seven introduce themselves for a holy ceremony, like a baptism, they will say their name seven times, to represent how just like their god is made up of seven different faces that each represent the good in humans, A person can only be enlighten by allowing themselves to fully be each of those seven aspects.
