True. For me the worst bad trait I learned from my environment is when adults called me polite and nice.

For me, I thought it meant I'm a good boy, which translating to being a good person, which meant if I continue being polite and nice, people will like me and want to befriend me.

Well, they just never taught you when to apply "polite" and "nice", and, you know, it's like, there's different degrees too, cuz, like, 'how' you are "polite" and "nice" to elders who have network, or to potential partners or rivals, or whatever... hm, well, I guess you can say it is undeveloped lol but that comes with age
