The original star wars felt almost like a fairy tale with stories of noble knight fighting evil wizards with John William's theme somehow representing the dream every kid has looking up at the stars. But it was tempered with a darkness and almost melancholy that the prequels and sequels couldn't replicate.

The prequels added some more shades of gray with the introduction of Palaptine and how democracy and the Jedi failed to stop him, but again still a lot lighter than something like 40k, but again what tone did you and your friends decide on?

My buddy really wants the war and politics to show up. With frointer aspect of wild west of plants struggling to make laws. The Sith I'd have be the first force religion. Conquerors and kings, those who wielded the force as power and sword to break enemies and make prosperity. The Jedi faction are a corruption of this, a modernist pull from violence to diplomatic peace.

I say tone wise there should be possibility and wonder, but if it is a setting about war, there is also these cycles of violence and struggle that mark a history of strife through the galaxy

Nope, never used Discord. Is it actually any good? I've heard conflicting things about it.

For discussions and voice chatting or video? Pretty good. However, not great for super long essays or stories as there is a post limit of words per post, and you want the better Discord versions for streaming

A point brought up by talking to my friend is all of galactic history is a eternal conflict between Jedi and Sith, where every major even is caused or ended by Jedi and Sith. When they aren't that powerful, but it keeps happening over and over again

I never liked that about Star Wars, not every war is a matter of good and evil, even if it does act as a central guiding point for the whole series.

I think the Sith should have leaned harder into a dark sorcerer with armor and blade bit. Helped distinguish them from the Jedi
