Your making it sound like daughters marrying dads to be their forever daughter wives is a practice done by Hell nobles as a statement of eternal dependence of the daughter on the father as their lover and minder and owner. Which is hot and fucked up

Well if you think about it marriage is the ultimate pact of surrender to another demon and it is forever, so if a daughter or son marries inside the family either that means they've been disloyal before and this is their penance or like you said this is them publicly surrendering their independence.

Or a mother offering complete dominance to their son as their husband and lord. Ergo the immigrant family.

So we have talked about two old demon factions.
But what of Sinners? The main population of Hell.

Well you got two types, people that came to hell or natural born one. I'll start with the people. To understand their perspective, we have to start with the old demons.

To the old demons, humans were made by god to replace them. They hate that a lot, and they put a lot of that resentment on to the humans. To the old demons they look down, don't trust, or even actively disdain humans for in their eyes taking away gods eyes from them.

Their queen. She is the first Sinner. Ergo a human. I am sensing contradiction or tension with royal authority.

So for the humans they don't give a fuck about a war that happened before time even started for them. they want power, they want respect, they want security and safety. They are tired of being at the whims of the distant god like entity's who hold domain over everyone in their little fiefs. Like you said, some demons are nice and treat their land and people they own with respect, a lot don't.

You'll notice when I was talking about the old demons their motivations were pretty straightforward. One side wanted vengeance, the other wanted to make heaven with black jack and hookers. What you'll notice is that they are all basically under agreement of what they want and where they want to go.

There's not a lot of treachery or backstabbing among themselves. That was until humans showed up with their own ambitions. A nice little subversion is that it was humans that brought lying and chaos to hell where as before it was basically an organized army camp. Just another reason for tension between humans and demons, and is basically what the old demons want to bring back.

I could see humans looking to Lucifer as a symbol of their new life, the Trinity as the start of a new identity and purpose in freedom found in Hell. Does Lucifer like humans? As he is the one who gave them Free Will and so he is a father of modern humanity

So in humans, you have people who want max horror show all the time. Truly vile gentlemen and lady clubs of sadistic evil. You have monsters like Al who eat other monsters but don't hunt the weaker sinners, you have bands of Sinners forming communities and culture and fighting for territory and peace. You have gang wars with Overlords able to take on monstrous demonic forms of great power and warp Hell to their will.

You have people working jobs and making families either by saving up a lot to find a fertility treatment to have a kid or adopting other Sinners. I'm seeing big welcome to America the melting pot of the world make a new life vibes for Sinner society in Hell

The humans want to move towards the future, but the demons are stuck in the past is a big theme I want to do.

Any yet some of the old traditions and ideas of hell are important and humans are trampling over them without a thought. Basically like the whole American melting pot analogy you made, the argument immigrant's had when they came over, of maintain their old culture or getting assimilated and the pros and cons of each.

You have humans making allies with Fallen noble clans or you have humans forging their own empires in rivalry with the Fallen. And in this, what is Charlie to Sinners? The cult of the royal family would spread to them as well. Lilith being the first Sinner Demon. A way I imagine it could appeal to them on purpose is she layered practical esoteric knowledge on hell's demon powers for Sinners in the faith.

Sinners see Hell as a new land to explore and conquer and live. Now with more power than they ever had as humans and the chance to indugle and gratify their most primal intimate desires of blood and sex and ambition and glory and power. The only thing stopping them is Heaven made weaponry or giving up and letting Hell absorb them.

That and demons fighting back to maintain control. Which is why Lucifer not being an active king hurt hell so much. Since Lilith, who does have a lot of personal and soft power, but not as much overwhelming strength as Lucifer does, wasn't able to quell the chaos between all these different groups only mitigate it a little bit into something more manageable.
