The scene I'm thinking, is that Robin goes throughout her day and not one of the teachers mention her son being at the school. Confused and a little hurt by this, she confronts her wife, and the wife says that she shined her last names instead of Robin's name and was very careful not to mention Robin at all in any of the documents.

When Robin asks why, understandable betrayed by this especially after that night where the two seemed to be reconciling, Lucy say's that she did this because Robin's is on a job. She's not a therapist, she's an assassin, and if that job goes south she wouldn't want their son to be involved in it.

I don't know. It probably sounds a little melodramatic, but I think it works perfectly, and it gives me an excuse for why Robin doesn't interact with her son while he's at school.

That is shitty but I like how well the point is made. Robin has to deal with the fact of how shitty her job is.

But yeah, Robin's mind control powers are kind of like a song you can't stop listening to. Except its a certain thought or feeling, your brain just keeps wrapping around over and over again. It starts out weak, but the more it's applied, the stronger it gets.

You combine that with the magic of therapy, which really is just giving someone the right advice at the right moment, and you've got Miss Robinson. Someone terrifying enough to turn simple illusions into MK ultra on crack.

And trying to balance the more self destructive sides of her that seeks to control and dominate, with her loving and gentler side.

Yep, but the issue with Robin is that she doesn't see it as that. She thinks these thoughts and feelings are bad so she hides them away along with her job. her entire thing is that instead of accepting its apart of her, she tries to hide it or pretend it doesn't exist. That she can be a so called good person in one life, as long as she can get out of her system in another.

But those two forces clashed into each other and showed her she can't keep them contained apart

Yep, that's Robin's big character arc, trying to balance two very different worlds and two different sides of her.
