Questionable Questing

I'm hearing Light Chi users for a bit of nuance investing strong emotions in the forging of their weapons to use the weapon as a symbol of controlling their powerful feelings

A higher level battle is mostly about endurance. Since the higher level people are so good at chi they can basically tank anything, so the goal is to mentally exhausted the other person to the point they can't correctly use chi anymore and then land the killing blow. And a big part of that is trying to use the person's emotions against them.

I like that tidbit with the light chi users weapons, will definitly have to use that. But back to the big fights. A part of trying to trip someone's emotions is trying to convince them this battle is wrong, either by proving you are so immensely powerful they can't help to win, prove your morally right and their wrong, prove their making a mistake somehow.

Your making lore reasons for anime speeches on convictions and philosophy. This is great. I love this.

Reminds me of the idea of in ring psychology I've learned about in wrestling where the action tells a story

And how the whole chi aura ties in with this, is that not only does it act as a weapon and shield, its an extensions of someone's sense and someone's emotions. With high level fights causing aura clashes that lets the two enemies literally read each others minds for a brief time. So a big part of avatar's clashing is playing mind games as much as physical ones.

With this I imagine there is variation within Light Chi and Dark Chi styles for say a Dark Chi blademaster and a iron willed Light Chi brawler
Andy333

Also keep in mind there's literally hundred's of different sec's with different idea's and beliefs. The whole light and dark chi is basically the two major religion's or philosophical idea's on chi, rather than the only ideas they have on it.

Basic thoughts that guide a lot of things. How do their Chi techniques as in their Kung Fu magic generally differ between the two beliefs with Dark vs Light Chi works?
Andy333

Light is very good at healing and alcehmy. Level headed, calm, and efficient desicon making for the win in that department, plus a lot of light chi user's read or write as a means to reflect or calm down so its built a culture of study and science.
Andy333

Their nerds basically. lol, and a lot of their techniques reflect that. Chi is magic and magic doesn't really have to floow the rules of relaity, but because light chi users think it is impacted by reality then their chi is.

I'm hearing Dark Chi users are more connected to their bodies for powers. Lots of enhanced physical combat
Andy333
Andy333
So adding wind chi to fire chi, really doesn't have an impact, but because the light users know about the concept of oxogen they think it has an impact and that belief causes a reaction. Mind over matter if you will and a lot of their spells are about creating natural reactions.

Destructive amplifcation of elemental force to violent motions. The Broly school of thought
Andy333

Stuff like creating lighting by igniting the hydrogen in water, which again chi could make lighting from nothing but the belief they have in science helps.

Standing in a puddle of water and make Chi lighting pop

With dark chi users their full on imagination can make anything happen, so their spells for a lack of better term is a lot more varied and a lot more spectacular, but at the same times its a lot more fragile and in a lot of cases less useful.
Andy333
Andy333
A great example, they can make a rock into an imaginary friend that will literatly talk to you with a programmed personility they pushed into it with their imagination. it doesn't tell them anything they don't know and doesn't have much combat ability, but its pretty cool and that's a lot of their descion making when desiging spells. its less about what use a spell has, and more can we do it?
Andy333
Andy333
Its the age old question of hold my beer. But in more practical terms Dark chi users are really good at illusions, large scare elemental attacks unlike smaller ones which the Light users are good at, and transformation.

Interesting. Very interesting. And in all this, fucking Ninjas. How do Chi Masters look at the concept of the Ninja demon blood clans?
