Viltrum used to have kings in the comics, if I'm not mistake Omniman is the son of the original one and is why Thragg the current leader, who killed the old king and started the civil war to take power, secretly hates him. Could tie in the law and codes thing into a system of almost chivalry.

Thragg that asshole is a loyal man to his bones and hates Nolan because Nolan rejects the noble blood of his king. He's patriotic for the viltrumite empire and nolan's desertion is disgusting to him

What I'm thinking is Vilturm has always beeen pretty bad, but before they were more tolerable, fighting fucking monster's yes, but honorable ones.

Then Thragg came into power turned up all their dickishness up to eleven since he's really insecure and his power base is entirely based on his strength and not because people like him. So he's really pushing the whole old honrable way out and replacing it with a might makes right attitude, causing the Green Lantern Core to get desperate enough to unleash the scounge.

Now that their species is almost extinct, the viltrum are desperate and are putting on this image of trying to reform and fix their crumbling empire all the while sending guys like Nolan to spy and try to create triputarty states with weaker planets, and Thragg is becoming worse as he see's his empire falling apart.

Thaedus will still be the traitor that is working for the corps. The issue is that what they did was so henious that only the top people of the green Lanterns even know it happened and any information about the event is being carefully covered up.

Viltrumites I'd empathize the natural combat instinct, resilience and conquering will. Mark is really hard to knock out of a fight. The strength of viltrum blood is terrifying but the endurance is dreadful. A lot of the wars with Viltrum are won by attrition.

So for Viltrum they think Thaedus is dead while truthfully Thaedus is in hiding, enjoying his retirement while preparing for when the green latern corps will eventually need him to deal with the Viltrums again.

Corps witness protection program and I see Mark and Omiman not winning by one punch but by brutal close quarters destruction. They beat and break and crush people. They fight and fight till the super threat is dead. Viltrumites are incredibly hard to keep down. Puts more focus on combat skill and grappling

Its going to be so fun seeing Omniman and Mark fighting their way through DC comic's. Can you image the shock of seeing someone get their hand ripped off and they just shrug it off and keep fighting. or seeing them covered in blood and their guts leaking out over the floor and they just keep going and going.

With Batman, the Ninja Chi powers I imagine have a hard limit in scale.
