Questionable Questing

Left work a couple hours early so I could drive my aunt to a job interview, but before that I was vindicated! lol. Its sounds a lot more dramatic, but my boss asked me to diagnosis what was wrong with an ac and after I was done he brought out a hvac service company to check it and what they said was the exact same as what I said.

Which you know, I don't care that he was testing my skills, it just felt like a waste of money since the ac service guy charge 300 dollars. lol. But it's not my money their wasting. lol.

He now knows your da man for the job. You ever talk to AI Art people about if their art is theirs and worthy of credit?

I think AI art is like CGI in movies or photo edit became widely available on computers. Sure in some ways it does restrict certain crafts because its so much easier and cheaper to use so companies and by extension their money will go to those endeavors when it originally would've gone towards more traditional stuff, which because with less money involved obviously these more traditional styles will shrink.

I know Jim Hendricks company almost went bankrupt before they where bought out by Disney and that's a real tragedy considering how many innovations within the filming industry their responsible and speaking of Disney the way the Imagineer's have been butchered these past couple of years is also pretty heart breaking.,

But all that is a business problem not a tool problem, and that what AI art is. its a brand new tool that seems really fancy and cool, and has bunch of high level executives drooling at the idea of not needing to hire artist's anymore, but much like how CGI didn't kill practical, AI art can't replace artist. Making AI art look natural and good is an art in of itself.

A friend of mine stated as a principle the more automated something is the less artistry in it. Besides programming but there's a difference between the craft to program a AI software to do art and the artistic investment put into doing the art.

And want to hear me talk of using that RWBY AU concept of bright souls being the opposite of corrupted Grimm blood? Which is the same idea as my Dark Souls urban fantasy thing

I mean anyone can spam out a bunch of low grade pictures and call themselves artists, but again to make it look good requires hours of fiddling with settings, lighting, editing, playing with prompts, and colors. That's art. That's being passionate and taking the time to make it look good.

Using CGI as an example again, Marvel is content pumping out shitty shows with shittier CGI because to them its just a product. But you compare to that Jurassic park which was made over thirty years ago and is still incredibly impressive. You can't program quality. People will be able to tell the difference between something someone cared about and an assembly line.

But sure, RWBY is always fun to talk about. They have some the highest ratio's of waifu's in any show I can think of.

I have to be honest man. Playing with Prompts requires skill but is this art skill? This sounds like coding and I can't say there's the same level of absolute ownership as drawing or animating yourself
