Questionable Questing

You probably saw how tired I was getting and after needing a tetanus shot and almost getting hurt a couple times, I just wasn't really comfortable with how lax they were about safety. And they wanted someone with more experience, which fair enough. I don't think they'll find that person. The pay's not good enough and most people aren't jumping for joy to be a maintenance man for a drug rehab.

But I wish them lucking in finding that person, regardless. I know these next couple weeks or months it takes to find someone new is going to be really rough on the other two maintenance people.

Back to job hunting it is

No I was fired, but I was definitively thinking about quitting and was only planning on staying for another couple months. So, I guess you could we both agreed it didn't work out. lol. But yeah safety was the big thing.

They had me working on the roof and attic most of the time, which isn't an issues, but when its 115 degrees out and they have a policy of not having more than one maintenance person being assigned to one job at a time, its get dangerous. If someone's on the roof, you should have someone spotting them at all times. That's OSHA regulations.

Especially if its a big job like changing a thirty pound motor on a fan. And I'm trying to explain to my boss, I'm having trouble with this and would like some help. Stuff like that really made me uncomfortable. And my boss expected me to be able to do jobs like that by myself and that's why I was fired.

Isn't violating regulations like that punishable? What you looking for next job wise?

The issue is that while their are numerous safety violations I saw, none of them were severe enough that if I reported it anyone would actually come out. And for my next job, I'm still looking to stay in the trades. So HVAC, Maintenance, those two things are still what I'll be looking for. But I'll definitely be a little more picky about it.

I remember having reservations about this job even before I took it. I think I mentioned it to you a couple times, but with the move I definitely needed the money. But now that money isn't as tight. i can really take my time and make sure I'm happy with the job before I take it.

Yep, very sus indeed, And any experienced people which is what their hoping to find, is not only going to have much better options than that place but is going to see the same issues I saw even before they get hired. Like I said, I wished my boss luck in finding new people because they are going to struggle.
