God Robert and Lyanna as a tag team is so hot. I love how Robert plays the strong silent type, while Lyanna's being the talker. Its such an interesting dynamic, and I loved reading about his insecurities with the recent troubles with the kingdom and the knowledge that Lyanna's son will soon want to bed his wife and give her a kid. just love, love, how he's feeling older and is worried his wife will notice.

My favorite scene? When Lyanna was getting her ass eating and teasing Olenna underneath her, while Robert was listening in with happy smile at how feisty his wife is.

Magic side right now. The difference between Pillars and Soul Flame. The magic of the Avantaue is tied to greater spiritual structures. The Pillars. Purifying and channeling controlled essence from the soul. Takes time to build up the connection and is hard to push the power but reliable.
Soul Flame begs to be summoned and used but the more used. The greater the stacked costs

Can you rip you soul apart when using the soul flame if you use to much at one? or is it just purely a mutating effect rather than a destroying one?

Both. You can destroy yourself in a eruption of raw primal power. It is the freedom of will and the chaos of consequenc for invoking those forces as desired.

There's no built in safety

Kind of like firing a bomb, you have to make sure your not caught in the cross fire. But how do you do that? What are some ways you can either control or at least try to mitigate the damage this magic does to you?

Learn what to feed the flames. Do you devour animal flesh for a few days or tear off the head of someone you don't like? And managing power summoned and unleashed. You can ban yourself from Sorcery for a few hours or days to let the build up die down

But since it addicting and if you in need of a fast jump in power your probably in danger of some kind. Just perfect recipe to keep going and going and not stop until your completely burnt away. Kind of reminds me of Cyberpunk Edgerunners, how desperation pushed everyone to get more chrome even though its killing them. Kind of tragic in a way.

It leads to a lot of transforming and dying in a blaze of glory. Where as the ascension of the Pillars for Avantaie is focused on being worthy and having a strong fortified reliable bond. Calling on only so much at a time

Asension, that's such a pretentious name and yet it work so great for the world building. These people who are doing this kind of magic, they must believe their literately ascending to the level of gods. it's probably like worshiping for them. Showing and proving their devotion by how tall their pillar is and how much they've distanced themselves for the mortals below and mortal sins like lust and greed.

Could make for some good commentary or conflict between the Pillar's since many of them are so obsessed with Ascending that they just stop caring about the world around them entirely kind of like Monks in a Buddhist temple.
