Ren being obsessed with being seen as a girl came for a fic I found were team JNRP was a full on harem, and Ren still a guy and Jaune being very straight had trouble connecting in that way despite Ren wanting it. it had a nice little arc of Jaune learning to see Ren that way and Ren dealing with some insecurities over it.
