AFO was aghast. He gave his brother power, love, security. He sacrificed everything for years to make him happy, and he's going to judge him when he takes all these things from him. For the younger brother, he loves his older brother. He was his most important person and the one he looked up to, but he couldn't ignore the bodies he's left behind or the fact that he wasn't stopping.

AFO had decided the only way to be safe and secure from the underworld was to control himself, and he didn't care how many bodies it took to reach the top. It was his dream, the older brother would rule the shadows and the younger one would rule the light. They could bring peace. They could finally end this war, but the younger brother refused to go along with it.

AFO gave him a quirk that could absorb attacks and stacked that power over time which eventually evolved into the One for all that we know and love. And AFO had a lot of resentment at his brother, villian's, and just being forced into this role to begin with that he was looking for an excuse to unleash, and the so called betrayal of his brother was his justification.

As for AFO, he's not pure evil. he still believes in that idea of a peaceful underground controlled by a powerful king is better than letting it freely and chaotically flow. But he just fucking despises his brother and see's All Might as an extension of that, and he also has an ego that see's any slight against him as a personal attack or threat to be eliminated.

Ah. So AFO is just a selfish ass with family issues

Pretty much. But it because of that "betrayal" by his brother that he refuses to have any children. Which ironically significantly weakened him in the long run, since one of the reasons he dying despite having so many healing quirks is that he needs a good chunk of his organs regrown or implanted, and since his quirk is so powerful it actively fights any tests or studies done on it.

If he had a son or even a distant relative who's DNA could be studied some cloned organs could be vat grown then transplanted and AFO would be close to full power by now.

He's grown so strong no one can reach him. Symbolism.

And with lucy I like the idea that she approaches David and Gloria like a hostile corpro. All smiles on the surface hiding knives and hidden power plays, with David taking her on a date for hotdogs and Lucy analyzing the toppings of it trying to find the hidden meaning. lol. Only to realize he genuinely likes her and is not lying and Gloria treats her like a real family she's never had.

Damn, sometimes I forget there's a three hour difference.

Super guilty when David is dying and willing to do anything to rescue him as she realizes in that moment how much she wants and needs him in her life

I also like the idea of the corpo son and mom having a bit of tragedy to them, in that they have a very distant relationship that slowly gets thawed and restored by the son's friendship with David. With the son acknowledging he's not being fair to his mom and the pressure shes under, and the mom realizing she need to be more involved his his life despite the job.

But the corpos pull on them and the mom betrays Gloria and the son David
