If you do ingredient farming, you could also introduce livestock as well. Magical creatures who's effects and products you can harvest, the readers have to explore and try to figure out. Or if you want some real dirty smut, have literal cow girls, woman who's breasts are so large they can barely walk and who's milk they produce is an important balancing agent for different potions.

Over on Alternate History hub, they have a section dedicated towards fanfiction for ASOIAF, where modern people are usually inserted in and introduce new technologies and ideas, and one of the early tropes for that was every self insert had to build a canal through Westros since it would have the potential to cut down trade time as much as the Panama canal.

I've been rethinking my smut thoughts on it. On the one hand the violent power fantasy of a battle lust possessed bimboifying Mark, on the other treating it as a serious story with excessive smut spice

My problem is funny enough that same scenario. Like for example when I made My Therapist it was for the exact purpose of having an amoral character, shamelessly seduce all the students for her own little harem. Now look at it. Its a genuinely emotional and character driven story, starring a flawed yet caring protagonist.

It started out as an excuse for smut and now its super serious and emotional. I just can't help myself, smut with emotion feels boring to me.
