I am liking where this is going

Can you image that? You spent years of your life in some other world fighting the forces of evil and becoming a great leader and king, only to come back to the so-called real world and have to try and pretend it never happened. How do you look at your parents and try to explain why your a stranger to them now?

Combine this with your spiderwick idea for they went to the Fae Lands and returned heroes and lords and ladies but now are in the modern world and they are used to ruling and conquest?

Do you think dealing with petty bullies and apathetic teachers is nearly as hard as fighting for your life? Of leading armies and handling politics in an alien culture? These are grown men and woman despite the childish bodies. They are smart and capable, and no matter how hard they try they can't hide just how much they've changed. They naturally lead people.

A bright and a dark brother and a bright and dark sister?

They naturally attract girls attention with how mysterious and in control they are. They scare adults with how intense and focused they are. The idea is basically a deconstruction of those usual kid goes to fantasy world to grow as a person and them comes back as a better person. Like you said these are kings and lords, used to conquering and fighting try to fit in a very different era.

Even ignoring the whole light and dark side of magic, the lighter brother and sister wouldn't hesitate to cut of an enemy's head. The modern era is just so far removed from their experiences.

Their idea of good and evil has adjusted for a far different age. I am liking this

And that's kind of it so far. Of course there's the usual, enemy's from the other side are trying to reach into our world. An idea o one of the bullies being distantly related to some gang and after our heroes kick his ass unknowingly attract their attention, eventually leading to the hero inadvertently taking it over as they respond with their violence with much more violence. lol.

But while seeing ancient king leading a modern day gang aided with mystical magic as they try to rebuild their army in perpetration for some eldritch evil that's about to invade, could be fun. its not as meaty of a story I would like and is why I dropped the idea.

Revising this urban fantasy idea with some more thoughts? Like the dark brother brings back a necklace containing the spirit of his slain witch lover and mentor, the White Witch inspired character and gifts it to his mother to have her fuse with his mom's soul

Seem's a little dark to possess his mother like that. What if the mother is sick with something and this could cure her, or if it was an accident she got a hold of the necklace?

If it's an accident you can keep the fun of how taboo a incestuous relationship is if the two slowly fall in love with each other as the memories mix in with the mother. Instead of if he's an active instigator.

I like the cure her idea.

To use Narnia as a inspiration have a jesus figure and a satan figure witch and the fae court ideas from before we talked on this?

For the jesus and satan figure, the fae court is divided into two pretty big groups. Since the Fae have the power to freely manipulate their own internal pocket dimensions the first group wants to just stay in these little worlds and completely ignore the human world, this is the light group since they want to maintain the existing status quo.

The dark group though wants to cause the two worlds to be combined and eventually for the entire world to be their easel to manipulate just like their own little domains.
