Trouble I always have and this is why I have vampires and werewolves as the same thing, is making a significant difference between vampires and werewolves. If you don't give vampires lots of weird powers. Vampires appear minor compared to the greater transformation of werewolves for distinction.

I think that's why so many writers like to give blood magic to Vampires kind of make up for the lack of power versus a werewolf, but then that's gets into the problem where the Vampire is too strong and the Werewolf gets pushed aside.
