slightly edgy revenge added into the mixture of MC motivation in addition to survival makes for a much more delicious story, right? especially one that's like "oh, now you're regretting ditching/cheating/divorcing me, when I'm doing so much better than you and your choices proved to be the worst choice" that kind of feeling that's 10% smug, 20% gloating, 30% moving on, 40% savoring the good life
