Questionable Questing

Biotic's always felt like the generic Sci-fy power anyway like the Force or Pysker's, or whatever. Just added in because all the other settings had them and it was an easy way to make the MC or any Waifu's, Liara comes immediately to mind, more special. But if I was in charge I would probably take in the direction Destiny has with it's magic.

Pathetic how and the Pyskers are cooler then Biotics and Force has that mysticism which is fun

With Destiny, powers come from these parasites that are actually connections to these ancient gods that you make covenants with for power, with different worms having different moralities and types of powers. Which actually ties in with my complaints about the reaper's. They worked much better as purely evil monsters that needed to be stopped. The minute the withers tried to make them more it flopped badly.

Parasites that's not Guardians? I have a friend who is hyper into Destiny lore so I know bits and pieces but your going Hive I see. And I smell Symboites from Marvel here but with magic.

Reapers we're robots created to either harvest or contain the parasites or psychic energy living beings naturally produce, with something going wrong and now the reapers are full on harvesters, specifically grooming and pushing different species to evolve in a certain way so next harvesting cycle there's more energy for them to suck dry.

That way you get some of the wider lore like the force, with this psychic energy forming gods and legends from that specific species belief as well as keeping the monster it's nature of the reapers while giving them a reason for their multi generational genocide.

But yeah, basically the idea is if you get enough of a sentient species, say a couple billion at the very least, all collectively believing in something they can generate enough psychic energy to form a spirit or god. Then people who can better channel or sense this energy can make deals or covenants with this god, to represent them in return for a certain amount of power/

With the Reapers inventing and spreading around the galaxy these special telepathic worms that can not only sense but also increase the host's power, for the explicit purpose of jump starting a species psychic potential for the next harvest.

Yep this is for Futa and cinnamon bun shep, specifically since I needed a good lore reasons for a god Emperor and I wanted to include some of the more interesting lore stuff with it without just making a straight crossover with Warhammer 40k.

Interesting. So the psychic power system is the chaos gods from Warhammer without the edge and the God Emperor is the bimbofication war god of mankind

The idea is that the so called "God Emperor" while a very powerful psyker, specifically because a long time ago there was one who could pass on their powers from one person to another at the cost of their life over time creating a practical demigod if you recall, they didn't become godly until people started believing in them after they reunited earth after a nuclear war.

And this believe thanks to generations of propaganda changing and manipulating over time to suit various agenda's, basically distorted the god Emperor figure into something new and different, kind tying back in with the character arc of how the real Shepherd of a true paragon, is being changed and manipulated by the culture and propaganda being made about his exploits and his inability to escape it.

But the big difference between the two is funny enough humanity. This version of the god emperor is a lot more human. He's a lot less tied down by how old he is, since each time the powers are passed on it's like the Avatar from the last airbender, some of the power and wisdom is shared but your still who you are as a person. You still retain you powers and your personality.

So you have a wide variety of god emperors with different goals and beliefs, as well as ideas on how to move forward. You have some that believe in war and conquests around their control. Some that believe in science and equality. Some hate the title and think they've been a net negative to humanity and should avoid using their powers.

Yeah, OF A is a great example of what I'm going for. They all generally have the same end goal in mind, since each of them was chosen by the last emperor, they just vastly disagree on how to get there.
