Questionable Questing

I said 10:20. But you are correct I usually take longer. Read my above thoughts on the spy bimbo school thing?

I did, furries can be fun. But I'm not sure if I want to go full on magic or if I want to keep hints of it, you know? I mentioned James Bond, but Tomb Raider or Indiana Jones is also a good bench mark. There are magic elements in the background hidden away, but the main focus is normal people, who may or may not have special powers or gadgets, but on the surface are still normal.

For super spies and assassins and agents Ki is a fun power source for rule of cool action moves and powers if you like but if your going more for what you listed I dig.

It would depend on the type of ki and how strong it actually is, anything big enough to start breaking down buildings is a big no-go. But really my big issues is that once you establish a magic system in the work, readers are going to be naturally curious about them and want to know more, and you run the risk of it dominating the story.

Classic martial arts fiction ain't building breaking but this is about fun. What you want to write and enjoy doing. What is fun and cool, what entertains.

I mean I like Sci-Fi, superheroes, and urban fantasy. I really like horror, especially more psychological one. But if you're asking for this specific idea, and what I'm really looking for in my next project with all these idea's I'm throwing out lol, I'm trying really hard to get a kind of anthology series running. You know the kind, Law and Order or any other detective show is a great example.
Andy333
Andy333
It's the show where you have a core cast of relatively unchanging characters, dealing with monsters, killers, or mission each week dealing with new locations and villains, with the occasional overarching plot to tie it all together. Basically a big problem with all my stories is they have so many characters and plot threads I end up getting a hundred thousand words in and nowhere near done and get a little dejected.

I want to write a story, but I'm going through personal stuff in my life and don't have as much time as I would like. So I need a good story that is not too much of a time investment, you know? Something short and fun, yet leaves a good opening for expanding in the future.

Ignore dejection. Write chapter by chapter with a arc in mind to connect the chapters. And just write. Pick time you have to write, adjust as needed, stay on a project, and write. If you have balloning ideas, embrace it. If you want something simpler to start, do that. And I shall listen and add to whatever you pick.

Thinking, superhero school combined with harem training? And entering tub, out in a jiff.

Thanks, but really it's the personal stuff that I'm dealing with. I don't really like the options in my career right now. I mean I don't hate maintenance, but it's pretty hard sometimes on your body and I definitely don't want to work here for the next twenty or thirty years. But I don't have the money or time to do college or more trade schools. So I feel a little stuck.
Andy333

I want to be a writer, and I think I could do it. But how long will it take? Ten years? Twenty years? At what point will I think I'm ready to bite the bullet, write one of my stories, and see about how to self publish on Amazon. And how long will it take to become successful? Is it even possible? I don't know anything about running a social media or influencer account which is what you need to self publish.
Andy333
Andy333
No rando on the street gets pick up by editors either. Not anymore. You need to be a nepo baby, be an editor for some kind of magazine or firm, or you need to have self published a few books to get picked up. I don't know. I know it takes time to do all these things, but I don't want to have to wait a couple decades for it to finally happen.

There's getting into doing porn and selling porn. You see it on Smashwords all the time. Or do the old online web novel route Worm and Practical Guide to Evil did
Andy333
Andy333
Maybe once I build up a little bit of a bigger audience and start getting more established on other websites like Archiveofourown or royalroads, I look into setting up a patron or start doing commissions. It can just be frustrating sometimes since if I just did random worm or RWBY porn prompts I could probably be making money from my writing right now.
Andy333
Andy333
But call it pride or stupidity, but I want to do it the right way. I want to make works that are genuine stories first and not depends on sex to sell, you know?

Less bitching. More writing. As my friend says, write the fucking story. Pick one and hit it. I think your Mark one is great. You write I'll read and give feedback.

Exactly, thanks for that. But onto your idea, the one with the dark heart bleeding magic goo that formed the bases for an industrial revolution.
