But other than the sexy times, what would you want to do with the Percy Jackson series? For me I never really felt like it had much in terms of fanfiction potential because unfortunately just with the nature and power of the Greek gods, they kind of suck all the attention up in any story you do in the setting.

And much like in real life as well the gods are the least interesting characters of them all in any of these stories. You either rebel against them or are subservient to them and there's really not a lot of wiggle room or character interaction beyond that. It really limits what you can do and is why a lot of crossover just have Percy or whatever cut loose in an entirely new world.

Demigod politics. How much power do you think the Demigods have in the modern world's highest places?

That runs into another big problem thought for any urban fantasy series, of how much power and influence the hidden world should have. Since using the Percy Jackson one as an example, if Demi Gods were secretly ruling the world or at the very least had significant influence, then why would everyone be worshipping Jesus? Why wouldn't there be at the least semi formal cults dedicated to the Greek gods?

Very true. Different thoughts. Superhero harem training school?

Which neatly ties back in with the big dilemma of any Urban Fantasy series. The more power you give the magical world, then it's only logical that the earth would be different or changed because of that. Which means more world building and alt history baking and that's something a lot of authors struggle with.

But superhero harem school, new idea or are we revisiting that one black widow idea I mentioned?

The idea was really inspired by the Atomic Blond or John Wick, just taking those school and secret societies full of bad asses and turning it up to eleven with some mystic or sci Fi powers. So I'll go with Superheros to keep the theme.

You prefer mystic or scifi powers? Kung fu assassin school or you want to go with cyber mods or something? You want pure human skill that can work. Just offering thoughts on ways to increase cool

I was thinking both, but kind of subtly. Sci Fi tech I'm perfectly fine with showing off but I want it to either be heavily prototyped or expensive to maintain. I don't want armies of Adma Smashers roaming around. It would ruin the balance of it too much. As for more Kung Fu and mystic stuff, my idea is that I don't draw attention to it, but people who train enough can do some bullshit feats.

Stuff like deflecting bullets with swords, running up walls, punching through someone's chest to stop their heart, that kind of stuff that wouldn't look out of place in a Kung Fu movie.

I would say for kung fu there is taking the old Street Fighter ideas where you give people cool powers with Ki but its limited. By its nature Ki can't do a dragonball. But I really like martial arts anime so I'm biased.

I do like street fighter, although mostly for its muscle woman. lol
