Whoops I was busy reading and since I didn't reload the site I didn't see any notifications.

But right now I'm doing the interview between Lois and Omniman where he gives an appreciated backstory about his world, to give the audience some background information of course, but also to show that he maybe having some doubts and maybe have Lois grill him a little and show not everyone is fully trusting of Omniman.

Well more accidentally than anything else. lol. See Omniman was explaining that Viltrum was a former Kryptonian colony that broke away, and Lois said very innocently so your people are Kryptonian. To which Omniman, more than a little peeved by that statement, asked her if she considers herself British since America's a former colony.

And well Lois really couldn't help herself, when she noticed that kind of statement from him and started asking him questions about what kind of relationship Viltrum and Krypton had and despite how much Omni Man was trying to downplay it, he did let it slip that the two nations had gone to war a couple times in the past.

But he swears it was a long time ago. To which Lois mentioned many British colonies haven't forgotten their treatment.

The truly creepy part is, for Nolan he very specifically studied early American history because to him he thought it was super important because in the beginning he was having trouble wrapping his head around how young Humans are. To Nolan a few hundred years is recent history, it's like remembering not to say anything about Trump at certain family members houses.

He very specifically avoided talking about the British or the Civil war because he thought it would upset the Americans he was trying to integrate himself with. Again he couldn't wrap his around the idea of forgiving someone and being able to move on from a war even if it was hundreds of years ago because to him that's nothing.

Viltrumites's are culturally vengeful?

Not vengeful in the sense that they go out of their way to hurt or hate other people, to them war is more a way of life than an expression of hate, but they don't see treaties or peace the same way. To them it's a pause to rebuild strength or find new intelligence. Peace doesn't exist, war is the natural state until either one side is destroyed or subservient.

Kind of. Nolan definitely toned it down a little bit as he learned from Earth and was changed for the better. But he did teach his son that the only way to deal with bullies if they won't back off is to destroy them completely.

That is exactly what I'm going for. Something that's on the surface seems like normal Mark, but there's just this little bit of a darker edge just poking out from underneath the surface.

Well Blackfire at first gets the talk with Omniman after she tries to start some shit, basically causing problems with Mark and threatening him if he said anything about it banking on the fact she's a new girl and he's the jealous only child to blunt any suspicious. Of course Omniman's much too smart to fall for some grade school level manipulations.
