Questionable Questing

I never really believed in a relationship between Sasuke and Sakura. I mean I think Sasuke respects her and I totally buy them two being friends, but lovers? Seems more like Sasuke needed someone to settle down with and to have a kid, for some plot points to get neatly finished with, rather than the actual chemistry of the characters.

He honestly had more chemistry with Karin to be honest, even though she was basically a copy of Sakura at least in the beginning. lol.

How was Sasuke's and Karin's relationship?

Basically like Sakura's. Karin was an ultra fangirl constantly wanting his dick and he kept turning her down and complaining about how annoying she was. Except Karin's childhood was as an experiment and mobile healer for Orchimama, since her bloodline power could speed up healing. So her whole life has been defined by being seen as a resource and not a person.

And this tragedy is partially why she connected with Sasuke so much, since he didn't care about her powers at all, and for the first time in Karin's life, treated her the same as he would anyone else. Which again while its super similar to Sakura, it adds a couple layers to it.

Why did they not get together

Because Sakura's his one true love and he had to return to Konha eventually, and can't have anything get in the way of those two things.

Again it's blatant example of an Author ignoring the character's chemistry and new story opportunities, to satisfy the plan he had in the beginning.

Even when he writes them with no chemistry in the sequel

Almost as bad as fat Anko and flat Tsunade.

Devastating. Boruto, redesigning him

Not an artist unfortunately. But if I was, I would have different primary colors. I'm not really liking the plum red and black.

I meant personality and character but that too

Oh. lol. If I was in charge of the art style, I would scrap the whole school dress thing completely, and make them a little more militarized. Not full blown flack jackets like Naruto's uniforms, to show how it's an era of peace, but at least something that points to their ninja background.

But character, a lot of my issue with Boruto ties in with how Naruto's relationship with his kids is handled. I mean the idea that he's working himself to death and neglecting his family trying to maintain peace in the Ninja world is totally believable. But they don't set it up properly. They keep going on and on about these problems Naruto's dealing with, but all they ever show is him doing paperwork.

Military outfits can be very fashionable

Naruto not knowing how to dad is fun to explore. He wanted a family all his life and doesn't know how to care for one

It's a classic case of tell, not show. We need to see the politics he's dealing with. We need to see the stakes and problems peace has brought. Have some political intrigue. Have the ninja's complaining about how their mercenary economy is collapsing. Have the clans getting uppity since their losing influence and power. I don't know. Make it more dynamic than paperwork.

Don't be afraid to show off how badass Naruto or Sauske is. I know they are an instant I win for any big bad and that's a problem. lol. But if you keep the stakes low enough for a new genin like Boruto, at least in the beginning, then you get to see them both be badass.

And in this, Boruto needs a motivation better than I don't want to be hokage. Sarda wanting to be Hokage and a big adherent of Naruto I love
