I am alive and I am free! God I hate waiting, especially for prescriptions the chairs as CVS are always so stupidly uncomfortable. And Buster is the oldest dog we took to the vet today. I didn't think the prescriptions would come in so fast since his appointment happened at 5:30 and I know the Pharmacy near us closes like seven or eight.
The chew monsters appointment is next Wednesday. And I am a Devil May Cry fan, although if we're talking about that specific genre of hack and slash games my two favorites are Bayonetta and the original God of War. For God of War it's not necessarily because it has the best story or even gameplay but because I grew up watching my dad play it so I have nostalgic memories.
That's always the best part of of the Hack and Slash genre, I'm sure you've seen some of the stupidly gory God of War 3 bosses but some of the so call special kills you can do on the normal enemies are just as amazing. Cutting of Gorgons heads and causing all the nearby enemies to turn into stone. Ripping out a cyclops eye, and watching blood drip down the socket.
Decapitating each head of cerberus separately with each head having its own mini round, health pool, and attack pattern. It's why despite her magnificent ass, I was never super into Neir Automata as a game. The story's great, but despite the praise I always felt a lot of the bosses were kind of lackluster and could've been so much bigger if they were a little more ambitious.
Which speaking of Hack and Slash games, a controversial opinion I have is that I always felt like the Batman Arkham games where an evolution or spiritual successor of that concept. Freeflow player controlled combat, with an emphasis on combos and switching between light and heavy attacks. Describes Arkham to a tee, it just didn't have the blood or boss fights of its ancestors.
Here it is, a little mega cut of all the fatality of the third game. I do enjoy the reimagine of Kratos, but holy shit do I miss the energy and gore of the original ones. I also prefer the old voice actor too but that's neither here nor there.

I think number two is my favorite, had the best innovations and I'm pretty sure one of the highest boss and enemies counts out of the three original games. Wasn't as polished as the third and later entries, but that gave them a lot more room to have fun and really throw stuff at the wall. I think as it became more and more apart of the Playstation's premier exclusives it really limited its ability to experiment.
Every other time the O button was used to brutally murder everything in his path, but this time it was used for emotional damage rather than physical one. lol.
They had the same mechanic in the first game where Kratos is suffering through a vision of his dead family by Ares trying to break him, and in it he fights waves of enemies with his family behind him, and if they too damaged he can hug them and sacrifice some of his health to save them.
Oh and I almost forgot the enemies he's fighting are all doppelgangers of himself. Just dozens of these clones that he's trying to protect them from. Whoever said the old God of War games weren't deep, needs to play this scene a couple times.
