He definitely still has the capability for it, but he's mellowed out a lot over the past odd couple hundred years and tries to control it for the sake of Charlie and the kids.

Well I don't have anything planned for the full on modern day, but at the point where the Journalist gets introduced in 1850, definitely. He's not just one of her main consorts, but he's also a major player on the world stage as a very powerful shipping Magnet and the public Husband for Charlie this lifetime.

With Charlie having to periodically create a new identity, with a liberal amount of magic to speed it along, every several decades and with each new identity she picks out a new public husband that aligns with their current goals. With the Pirate being a popular one since he has the most experience courting noble houses and the intrigue that follows.

But the first arc, journalist and Charlie in industrial London, how that go?

Well the first arc is set in Nigeria with that whole set up I explained yesterday. With Charlie meeting the journalist, learning some background about her and a little worldbuilding/history lessons, ending with some nice mysteries to explore. Since I thought about what you said about native cultures and demons, I actually had a good idea to tie it back with the second arc in London.

The idea being that demonologists, disguised as missionaries, taught the local tribe these rituals knowing they would use it against Charlie. With their end goal of forcing her to get involved in the region. With Charlie and the Journalist discovering hints of this, and as part of integrating him into the wider family and the paranormal world, she takes these findings to the twins.

Where the Twins then take him through a little romb around various asylums and orphanages where people have been going missing in a shockingly similar fashion to the way people were sacrificed in Africa. With the Journalist not only getting some time to see the twins in action, kicking ass and breaking into places, he uses his credentials to ask around and help bait out the people behind it.

How powerful are the twins in combat and magic

I was imagining a cross between Assassin's creed and Dishonored when I made them. With the twins also having this weird connection where they can sense each other's location, emotions, and sense.

So not building breakers. Street level super assasins?

That's the idea, with a demonic form directly channeling Charlie's power they can call upon for emergencies, like all her husbands, but has some nasty side effects they try to avoid so prevents them from always using it.

Personality distortion?

A little bit of that, the more of Charlie's power they draw upon the more it burns away their human side and practically makes them a slave to her wills. Which is something Charlie very much does not want, sometimes to the point of actively fighting with her spouses over it. But at the same time her magic is so powerful it actively warps reality which can be very dangerous to any bystanders.

It's the same reason Charlie tries very hard not to go all out. plus the demonic cult I was talking about, they're actively trying to groom Charlie into being the antichrist with various schemes to slowly corrupt her. And one of the big reasons why is because if she ever actively summons all her power, it would directly open a portal to her original hell.
