That's the idea, with a demonic form directly channeling Charlie's power they can call upon for emergencies, like all her husbands, but has some nasty side effects they try to avoid so prevents them from always using it.

Personality distortion?

A little bit of that, the more of Charlie's power they draw upon the more it burns away their human side and practically makes them a slave to her wills. Which is something Charlie very much does not want, sometimes to the point of actively fighting with her spouses over it. But at the same time her magic is so powerful it actively warps reality which can be very dangerous to any bystanders.

It's the same reason Charlie tries very hard not to go all out. plus the demonic cult I was talking about, they're actively trying to groom Charlie into being the antichrist with various schemes to slowly corrupt her. And one of the big reasons why is because if she ever actively summons all her power, it would directly open a portal to her original hell.

Which would basically summon into their world a raw and limitless source of chaotic magic, no longer bound by the rules and roles of old. Of course this influx of magic would also let Charlie go home finally, only at the cost of actively killing a decent chunk of the population and mass suffering for everyone since magic is a natural energy that affects the earth like gravity with that much magic like a nuke.

A nice little moral dilemma of keeping to her morals and potentially never seeing her family again, to add some nice emotional spice to her conflict with the demonologist.

Just finished. Sorry it took so long, got dizzy for a second. Needed to take a couple breaks. But the fight scene was epic. Reminded me of one of the old god of war bosses and the introspection was fun. Liked the world building scattered around it too.

Found the Boss fights I was looking for and still just as epic as I remember.

How you like Carm and his thoughts on orcs and Ilithids?

Was more of a blurb than anything deep, but a reminder about how much his word, himself included, is changing was pretty cool. I like the line about the new orcs being born under heroic gods from both man and orcs.

How you like Carm and the themes of the piece

I thought the scene at the end with his daughter was cute. I liked the contemplation he had about where he would'Ve been if he hadn't been brought to this world as well as acknowledging as powerful as he is he never faced a serious adventuring party. The fact the whole battle was so deep nobody could even see or hear anything on the surface adds to that whole tragedy of basically dying for nothing.
