Wait Space Magic? You can't just throw that out there and not say anything. lol. But the first fear and hunger is set in the 1600's and the second one is set in the early 1930's ish. I mention ish because it's an alternate world that doesn't line up with ours a hundred percent. Rumours are the third one is going to be set in the 1960's or 70's.

I thought Fear And Hunger was swords and armor and yes. The Six God Stars of the Blood Knight, Celestial Matron, Heavenly Father, still working on Maiden and Smith original rework radiate a cosmic aura that their priests and paladins use. In contrast with the sympathetic magic of the Old Gods.

SO these space gods, do they care about humans? Are we just pawns in their games? Why did they come down and meet humans? But with Fear and hunger, even in the first one they had some I would call it Sci Fi, but Magic tech. You have these godly figures in game and one of them was trying and failing to create fully artificial life using these robot-like automations.

And the second game very much still focuses on Magic and Slicing people's arms off. There are just also now a few guns, flamethrowers, mines, and a few other magic tech creations, like a bunch of corpses getting fused with a tank into these horrible abominations all mixed in. lol

With Satan and the Black Goat, are they legitimate fallen angels the pantheon are fighting? Or is it more like a Ying and Yang situation where while they represent darker elements in life, that doesn't mean they aren't a valid member of the group since light cannot exist without dark?

God Stars were eldritch entities fed on the souls of their original followers. They still do but now it is more a commuion with their essence and being made one with the divine realms they hold. When their Exodus of Ilithids and other xenos crashed onto the setting, the human population altered their beliefs with a new canon that over time changed the nature of the God Stars.

The Black Goat is an antagonist figure who is forever trying to earn back the grace of the Five. Their a punisher and warden for the horrors the Godstars imprison. A prosecutor as in the old Satan.

He wasn't doing his job before. The Black Goat is consigned to the void outside the cosmic communion of the Five because eons ago they betrayed the Godstars to another hostile entity and having been torn from the Union they have been regretting it since. What they were would be hard to discover.
