The site has now migrated to Xenforo 2. If you see any issues with the forum operation, please post them in the feedback thread.
Due to issues with external spam filters, QQ is currently unable to send any mail to Microsoft E-mail addresses. This includes any account at live.com, hotmail.com or msn.com.
Signing up to the forum with one of these addresses will result in your verification E-mail never arriving. For best results, please use a different E-mail provider for your QQ address.
For prospective new members, a word of warning: don't use common names like Dennis, Simon, or Kenny if you decide to create an account. Spammers have used them all before you and gotten those names flagged in the anti-spam databases. Your account registration will be rejected because of it.
Since it has happened MULTIPLE times now, I want to be very clear about this. You do not get to abandon an account and create a new one. You do not get to pass an account to someone else and create a new one. If you do so anyway, you will be banned for creating sockpuppets.
Due to the actions of particularly persistent spammers and trolls, we will be banning disposable email addresses from today onward.
The rules regarding NSFW links have been updated. See here for details.
'Metagaming?' by Noodlehammer is worth a read IMO.
It comes with the disadvantage that it's the last in a series, so understanding the main characters and their motivations would be difficult without having read the previous works.
Hopefully it's todo with the planned migration and XF2 upgrade. Seeing the forum running on nginx running on version 1.14.1 is slightly terrifying. That version is EOL for nearly 5 years now.
When the forum had a short-term issue earlier, I saw that it's still running on nginx 1.14.1 - that came out November 2018.
The xenforo version seems to be from 2019, too.
I'm not asking for more features or anything, but please update the codebase to patch vulnerabilities?
I'd hate for the...
The timescale keeps getting shorter.
He promised he'll look it up on Monday Morning.
Piggot passed on 'it'll be done by Monday Morning'
Reminds me entirely too much of unrealistic time frames in project planning...
And here's the successor, Marilith, in a 2015 snapshot:

Though I can still send you my saved comic strips if the loading speed on the wbm is a bit too slow for you^^
I actually found something useable on the wayback machine

(That and I used to religiously save webcomics to my local drive, so I've got the entirety of Krakow and part of Marilith if you're truly curious. It wasn't the best of art, though. I kind of understand why the author decided to take it offline in comparison to their ongoing Spinnerette webcomic.)
It took me effin months, but I finally remembered why your username kept rattling something in my brainmeats.
I was reminded of the Krakow comic by CrazyKrow... any relation?
Hey man, happy to have you here :)
Too bad about the ff mods. They really are incredibly inconsistent - just look at the fact that Wordhammer's Spiral Path (and its Tangents in particular) are still up, a decade after completion.
I love that story (almost as much as yours) but it gets real dark...
Not really.
For one, though I've bought the books I wouldn't exactly call the Dire Saga famous.
And for a second, the fanfic came first.
Fun side note: Christopher G. Nuttall (Schooled in Magic) posts the beta draft of his books on SpaceBattles as they're being written and takes them down...
...super happy this is back.
As others have said - most fics, I'd have to re-read after a year and a half. Not this one. I remember it quite fondly and was able to pick up where it left off immediately.
