The site has now migrated to Xenforo 2. If you see any issues with the forum operation, please post them in the feedback thread.
Due to issues with external spam filters, QQ is currently unable to send any mail to Microsoft E-mail addresses. This includes any account at live.com, hotmail.com or msn.com.
Signing up to the forum with one of these addresses will result in your verification E-mail never arriving. For best results, please use a different E-mail provider for your QQ address.
For prospective new members, a word of warning: don't use common names like Dennis, Simon, or Kenny if you decide to create an account. Spammers have used them all before you and gotten those names flagged in the anti-spam databases. Your account registration will be rejected because of it.
Since it has happened MULTIPLE times now, I want to be very clear about this. You do not get to abandon an account and create a new one. You do not get to pass an account to someone else and create a new one. If you do so anyway, you will be banned for creating sockpuppets.
Due to the actions of particularly persistent spammers and trolls, we will be banning disposable email addresses from today onward.
The rules regarding NSFW links have been updated. See here for details.
For most people, I doubt it's worth a full two hours, but I am rather fond of this video from MATN titled, "Fallout 3 is Better Than You Think"
There's this free mod, Fallout: Tale of Two Wastelands that requires a copy of both Fallout 3 and NV, but places both of them and all their DLC into...
On average, the flu vaccine is 40-60% effective. The Johnson and Johnson vaccine is over 65% effective in preventing COVID and the Moderna and Pfizer are both over 90%. This is amazingly effective. However, even the less-effective vaccines still will generally mean that if you do get COVID, the...
I personally would be perfectly willing to get the Johnson & Johnson vaccine. That said, Moderna and Pfizer use a different vaccine type, so if you are concerned about J&J, you could try to get one of those instead.
This is not entirely accurate, but close. It's more than "only a few thousand" with 2.5 million to Mexico and 1.5 million to Canada. However, this is out of 7 million doses currently available, so still rather disappointing. They should have been sent out as a gift (loan is IMHO stupid) a while...
Also, to put it bluntly, several of the better vaccines right now (Pfizer-BioNTech and Moderna) are bleeding-edge MRNA vaccines that most developing countries simply do not have the equipment to manufacture. Attempting to acquire the equipment and trained people to operate it is impractical for...
Thank you for sharing this. If we are talking about the same one when you mention “messy” politics in the USA, I think it is actually well done. To quote tv tropes, “Some anvils need to be dropped”
This chart is a little out of date and mostly covers the old-fashioned way of making a vaccine rather than the more modern mRNA techniques. Also, the numbers are suspect.
Discovery is a bit of a crapshoot, just digging deep into literature and theory to find all approaches the researchers...
My mother received the vaccine today. She works admin at a healthcare facility and does COVID screening for patient intake as well. She wasn't on the primary list for today, but there was a waiting list in the event of no-shows and she ended up getting it. It's a relief both when it comes to her...
