    A few people do the 1-/2-/3- thing, and it's a clever work around. Making an add-on so OPs can manually control the tag order is on the to-do list, but in the meantime, I've been making 1-X/2-Y tags synonyms rather than merging. Unfortunately, I'm not going to be able to add any new variations...

    Looking at the specific threads, ‘r34 catalog’ all do seem to use some variety of a ‘r34 economy’ CYOA, so it does seem to be the same thing. Will keep them in the same merge group, as they are.

    Moderation mostly doesn’t care; if the threads aren’t distinct enough, one usually dies on its own, but that’s up to the userbase. We generally only intervene when a specific user has made two of the same thread, to delete the duplicate.

    See what you mean. Possibly ‘pseudo-historical’ and ‘semi-historical?’ would be better synonymised with ‘historical fantasy’ too, looking at their results, and the rest in the ‘historical fiction’ group?
