I really hope we can buy this extra turn or two... We're so close to getting a bunch of Name friendships and Sacraments! Even Neighnia is not impossible!
Each extra turn we get is AT LEAST one more sacrament. And we should keep in mind how they have not only mechanical but narrative value too...
It seems like the 3 possible results are basically
1) problem delayed to next turn
2) problem solved (but there's still the lantern countdown)
3) problem escalated
Not counting Selene's intervention though...
eh, TECHNICALLY there's still some leftover room, book searches are not COMPLETELY useless. But expeditions are FAR more efficient in terms of bits AND actions required for anything above lvl 3, and considering we could only use heart lvl 3 books, and then only 4 and above...
the cost of a...
that's a bit sad. The price of progress.
or better wait, don't tell him!
and Celestia is on fire, yes, we know...
a bit careless of Velvet.
ok, LITERALLY on fire...
but she got better!
Turns out, Death is a good dance partner
Not sure I'd read it like that.
interruptions read to me as "try to stop the fight". if you're JOINING the fight... well, apparently the Lionsmith has Smiles be there basically to be killed first to give him an opening towards the Colonel, so at least one half of the corrivalry is willing to...
mechanically speaking, dancing with death was never meant to have you lose all actions though. So that's more narrative flavouring than a mechanical advantage.
5 velvet APs is better than 4, that's a near certain thing.
Also the "renewable" source of moth scraps is just a guess, at least from how I understand it. I'm not convinced. Same for the SH one with the tower, really, the way I read it was that there's a simple SH scrap there that for some...
Are those the only actual differences? Because yeah, if we're searching for another complicated expedition then yeah, I'd rather try our hand with Neighnia.
There's a low but non-zero chance we could dedicate basically all of turn 25 to friendship and winter sacrament with her IF we get her AND...
on a quick look through the plans
[X] Plan: A Song of Bright Snow
In the lucky case we get an extra turn, we could acquire Neighnia turn 24, and befriend her and/or get the Winter Sacrament on turn 25... It's a bit optimistic, but it would be a massive coup...
I'm uninterested in...
not sure if they're renewable. my impression was that we get it just once, but as the first time we were at cap we somehow... left it there for later.
Completely different things in my opinion. I just don't find Moth Mastery really viable at this point.
keep in mind that a pause in the combat would likely remove the bonus.
So, if someone sacrifices himself (or IS sacrificed by others running away) to buy time, the next battle likely resets the bonus.
In any case, I think the narrative aspect of the sacraments counts as much as the mechanical...
good point about the edge sacraments.
as for Cadance, 4 AP is my personal minimum, and I find it acceptable.
Keep in mind, we just... don't really know how much it helps, but historically speaking most good things we did have taken 3 or 4 APs at most.
Sacraments tend to be 3 dedicated APs...
Honestly I'm not that interested in Windy at this point.
Neighnia I could be convinced on, but that would probably require a scrying ritual...
To be fair, they DO have lots of pony prisoners they're probably planning to bring with them as food, so there's an argument we don't want to let them...
