  • Due to issues with external spam filters, QQ is currently unable to send any mail to Microsoft E-mail addresses. This includes any account at live.com, hotmail.com or msn.com. Signing up to the forum with one of these addresses will result in your verification E-mail never arriving. For best results, please use a different E-mail provider for your QQ address.
  • For prospective new members, a word of warning: don't use common names like Dennis, Simon, or Kenny if you decide to create an account. Spammers have used them all before you and gotten those names flagged in the anti-spam databases. Your account registration will be rejected because of it.
  • Since it has happened MULTIPLE times now, I want to be very clear about this. You do not get to abandon an account and create a new one. You do not get to pass an account to someone else and create a new one. If you do so anyway, you will be banned for creating sockpuppets.
  • Due to the actions of particularly persistent spammers and trolls, we will be banning disposable email addresses from today onward.
  • The rules regarding NSFW links have been updated. See here for details.

  1. With This Ring (Young Justice SI) (Thread Fourteen)

The lioness-headed one might be Sekhmet (not exactly the nicest of deities, and there are other ones who could fit the description...) instead of Bastet, but ancient Egypt had this thing where some gods could turn into others depending on circumstances, with Sekhmet and Bastet being two...
  2. With This Ring (Young Justice SI) (Thread Fourteen)

I guess Paulmon could disguise construct Am-heh by overlaying a hologram of a normal goa'uld on top of it, but since that wasn't mentioned in the text...
  3. With This Ring (Young Justice SI) (Thread Fourteen)

Ah, called it. Does Paulmon know about the way the Asgard transfer their own consciousness to cloned bodies ? If so, it would be a pretty good argument to use on the SGC. Though he'll have to "get his body back" first... Ouch, yes. Not going to spend too much time on this because I don't want...
  4. With This Ring (Young Justice SI) (Thread Fourteen)

Well yes, it's tricky, but it's weird to see Paulmon being so inconsistent about it. He's had a long time to pick an option and stick to it, probably by listening to how most people talk about/to Bastet and assuming the most common form of address is their preferred gender.
  5. With This Ring (Young Justice SI) (Thread Fourteen)

So, is Bastet a Lord or a Lady ? I think both terms were also used in previous chapters.
  6. With This Ring (Young Justice SI) (Thread Fourteen)

Aren't there a lot of Goa'uld who don't even have their own planet, instead serving as scientists and administrators under more powerful ones ?
  7. With This Ring (Young Justice SI) (Thread Fourteen)

Paulmon's arguments may not be the best, but in his defense, it can be hard to argue in favour of something you don't believe yourself, especially on such short notice. Sure, he doesn't think of himself as a god, but given his position, it's not like he could've publically agreed with Ms. Duxley...
  8. With This Ring (Young Justice SI) (Thread Fourteen)

We need more Paulmon interacting with small children, it's hilarious !
  9. With This Ring (Young Justice SI) (Thread Fourteen)

Ah, yes, one of the more awkward parts of the Stargate program : the US military monopolizing it in order to get a leg up on the other countries, even though it should by all rights be a joint effort involving the entire UN. Aren't there a bunch of treaties stating that the universe beyond Earth...
  10. With This Ring (Young Justice SI) (Thread Fourteen)

Which is why Mammon-Paul says Bastet can use the address to send her fleet to his world, immediately in the following sentences.
  11. With This Ring (Young Justice SI) (Thread Fourteen)

Well yes, it's one of the central conceits of the superhero genre : the government has to be impotent and/or corrupt, otherwise there would be no need for billionnaires, tech geniuses and assorted superpowered übermenschen to put on some spandex and go around punching idiots, assholes and...
