Aaaah! Why?!
Lisa assures me that my model's wrong irregardless, due to the nature of the Endbringers.
This bears repeating.
No! BAD TanaNari! That is not a word!
Regardless, yes. Irrespective, yes.
"Irregardless", NO.
Yeah, I'm aware that it's nonstandard English. That said, if she's aiming for acting adult like, learning what words aren't used isn't very hard to do. And considering she reads a lot of classic literature, if she's going to go for sophisticated, she'd probably sound more like a character out of Jane Austen. It actually is, sadly, and with a 200+ year history, so I'm going to assume it is intentional when narrating from the POV of a teenage girl trying to sound mature in her head.
TanaNari was asked for this a handful of chapters ago. Apparently Sophia's pretty much out of the picture, in terms of relevant scenes that actually have something to show.Anyway, TanaNari, I would like to ask if we will see Sophia anywhere in the fic again, mostly to see how she realised she had fucked up badly.
Just like in canon. Good work Sophia! You being a complete screw up has (potentially) saved the world. Pat yourself on your back, because no one else is going to.From her perspective, she's made the world a better place for her actions and paid a price for it....so she's the hero nobody wanted, but the one we need...
Kind of wondering if her lack of powers has anything to do with the amount of thought she's putting into her life/actions, since without the shard there, or at least as directly there, to generate conflict she's actually thinking about the best way to get advice to keep friendships working.
However, it is also meaningless. It actually is, sadly, and with a 200+ year history, so I'm going to assume it is intentional when narrating from the POV of a teenage girl trying to sound mature in her head.

This enrages the Peanuckle.
If they let her out maybe she can findout who the Endmaker is by being herself..Just like in canon. Good work Sophia! You being a complete screw up has (potentially) saved the world. Pat yourself on your back, because no one else is going to.
I figured the word was an intentional effort to make Dinah seem human by making her duck up in an obvious and blatantly pretentious way. Her other flaws have been shown in fairly subtle ways.... Y'know, I was planning to edit it. But the rage amuses me so now I won't.
And other posts, I guess.
Eh, it was used by a child. I'd advise not using it as part of narration, but for speech it's fine.... Y'know, I was planning to edit it. But the rage amuses me so now I won't.
Blatantly wrong in this case though.
- Author arrogantly shoves his own flaws in the audience's face.Dammit, guys, stop ruining my irrational dickish behavior by giving me narratively brilliant reasoning!
My problem with it is that I can can understand the rest of her language quirks as her trying to sound like her idea of what a grown-up should sound like. 'Irregardless' just sticks out as one of those things you don't say when trying to sound smarter than you are.Seriously, though, the 'irregardless' thing was least partially intentional.
I say that because I picked the word specifically for the pretentiousness of its use. The reaction to it, on the other hand, was entirely unexpected. I didn't think it would stand out any more than any of the rest of her language quirks. The goal was the outfield, instead I got the bleachers.
What, why? Using words wrongly is a clear symptom of trying to appear smarter than you are.My problem with it is that I can can understand the rest of her language quirks as her trying to sound like her idea of what a grown-up should sound like. I expect better from Dinah. What, why? Using words wrongly is a clear symptom of trying to appear smarter than you are.

Regardless = without regard for
Ir = a negative modifier; i.e. "irrespective = without respect for"
Thus
Irregardless = without without regard for.
It's a nonsensical double-negative.
Bingo. What, why? Using words wrongly is a clear symptom of trying to appear smarter than you are.
I'm sorry, but you've just disqualified yourself from having an opinion about words.your only partly right however,
'Irregardless' of you displeasure over the use of (...)
Well, she doesn't get a chance too often.
Don't listen. I'm perfectly fine with Missy glutting on the spotlight.
Dinah apologizes for not meeting your expectations of young teenage girls. That apology even has a 7.373% chance of being sincere!
Because getting Professional help doesn't do the shards any favor, their shards have strangered them to never see that as a choice. or Pantheon wants them to trigger again so they have more fire power,if they become mentality unstable they're put down and they reboot a pretriggered copy.if they're stable then they reboot a copy with the old power to increase their numbers.Um. . . I'm no Yamada fan, but wouldn't Lisa or maybe Dragon be mandating that Missy, and well everyone in the endbringer fights get some counseling? I might have missed it with Pantheon doing a decent job forming a superhuman military, but why isn't Pantheon giving institutional psychological help as part of it's Google like benefits package?
Sorry, but that's wrong. It is a word. http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/irregardlessThis bears repeating.

While that's technically true, I wouldn't assume that means they'll be allies."It means when the time comes, we won't be fighting alone," I told her.
Anyways, alot of us use kind of nonstandard English, alright?Yeah, I'm aware that it's nonstandard English. And the rest of you can't have expected anything different.... Y'know, I was planning to edit it. But the rage amuses me so now I won't.

Never mention this in your girlfriend's hearing. One of those unfortunate problems with having an arm on both sides, there weren't many ways to cuddle without at least one limb getting in the way.
'Oh' should be italicized, I think.

It wouldn't surprise me if Pantheon made such help available. That doesn't necessarily mean that you can mandate it, though.Um. . . Nobody cares, and all of that has been said already four different times.
If you're going to criticize someone for trying to insert formal logic rules into language, you really ought to include phrases like:Nobody cares, and all of that has been said already four different times.
