Chapter 1: A New World?

The world has been acting strange lately. Technology is evolving too fast, and anyone who can't keep up gets left behind. Maybe that's why I'm in this situation now. Maybe I was just another disposable pawn on this corporate chessboard.

"Prometheus, your thirty-day notice period is over. Since the company is facing difficulties and you no longer align with its values, we've decided to terminate your contract," said my boss, in that cold, professional tone.

Funny. After all' the work I did here, I didn't even get a "thank you."

"I expected as much," I said, gathering my things. "Goodbye."
Point of View: ???

"The connection was successful... but will the summoning work?" murmured a voice in the darkness. "Well, whatever. Let's see who gets chosen for this experiment... Ah, a freshly fired young man. Seems perfect."

Point of View: Prometheus

Finally free from that awful job. But if I'm being honest with myself... deep down, I kind of liked it.

It was exhausting. My boss treated me like a work mule, dumping almost the entire department on my back. Simple tasks, complex ones, urgent ones — he spared me nothing. But at least I had something to do. A reason to get out of bed.

Now? Nothing.

I wandered aimlessly through the city streets, feeling the weight of my own existence. That's when I realized something important.

Today was my birthday.

Happy birthday to me. Twenty years old, and what do I have to show for it? No promising future. No family. No place to call home.

Oh, and of course. Today also marked eight years since my parents died. When I was younger, I'd cry for days around this time. Today? Just emptiness.

I looked up at the sky. The weather had turned strange. Just moments ago, it was unbearably hot — almost 35°C — but suddenly, the clouds turned gray and heavy.

Better head home before it starts to rain.

Point of View: Narrator

Prometheus quickened his pace, feeling an increasing sense of unease. Something was wrong.

He looked up and frowned. The clouds were swirling into a spiral. This wasn't a normal storm. The air had grown dense, as if the world itself were holding its breath.

The wind howled — sharp, high-pitched. And then everything went gray.

The spiral descended upon him, swallowing him whole. His body was seized by an invisible force, and his consciousness faded.

When the storm vanished, there was no sign of Prometheus.

Point of View: Prometheus – Dream/Nightmare

Darkness. Cold, suffocating, crushing.

And then, voices.

"You were never good enough, Prometheus. You never were." — My father's voice.

"You could've been stronger... If you had been, I'd still be here." — My mother's voice, sweet but full of disappointment.

"A useless waste of potential. I regret ever investing in you." — My boss, in his usual indifferent tone.

Images swirled around me, like I was trapped in a shattered mirror, fragments of memories bleeding together.

Me, as a child, crying in the rain before my parents' grave.

Me, as a teen, working late into the night, pushing past exhaustion just to prove my worth.

Me, as an adult, discarded like trash — like I'd never mattered.

The weight of failure was crushing.

"Why keep going? You know you're alone. You know no one cares." — The voice echoed from every direction.

But then, another voice broke through. Calm, yet commanding.

"This wasn't a dream."

Point of View: Prometheus – Reality

I looked up and saw a man standing there. Brown skin, hair black as the void of space, eyes glowing like stars. His presence was overwhelming, yet somehow soothing.

"Who are you? An alien? An angel? God?"

"Let's just say I'm a spectator. But to simplify, call me Eryos. I'm a god... just not of this world."

A god? Another world?

He made a casual gesture, and I noticed my surroundings. It looked like a café. But something was off.

No scent of coffee. No sounds of voices or machines. It felt too perfect — like an illusion.

"Why did you bring me here?"

"I chose you for an experiment."

"What kind of experiment?"

He ignored my question and asked another:

"If you had the power to challenge the impossible, would you use it to save... or to destroy?"

I hesitated for a moment, then replied:

"I'd save the ones I love... and destroy anyone who stood in my way."

Eryos gave a faint smile.

"Good answer. That's why I chose you. I want you to live in a new world. A place called Nyros. A world of kingdoms, forests, and mountains. Peaceful on the surface, but full of conflict."

"Why me? I'm no one special."

He raised an eyebrow.

"Exactly. No one will miss you. Your family is dead. You blame yourself. You lost your job. You think you're a failure. In short, you're useless."

His words cut like a knife.

"How do you know that?"

"I know everything about you, Prometheus."

I clenched my fists.

"Why are you telling me all this?"

"So you understand that your only real choice is to accept my offer. Refuse, and you'll return to your empty life with no memory of this conversation."

I stayed silent. Then finally said:

"I accept."

Eryos smiled.

"Before I send you, choose a goal. If you fulfill it, I'll grant you something of equal value."

Still irritated, I blurted:

"Does defeating a god count as a goal?"

His smile widened.

"Careful what you wish for."

A golden light enveloped me.

The last thing I saw was Eryos waving.

"We'll meet again soon."
