Economics and Rule 8

I'm an economist, and I humbly request clarification on whether discussing economics with other users could be considered political and, thus, an infraction of Rule 8.

For instance, discussion of current economic events and policies and their effectiveness in what they do.

Another instance would be arguing over economics.
