"Hm, strange…" I was standing in the middle of the desert just outside of a massive
city. It was much more impressive than the Fuyuki was. But several things feel…
off. For one I am not a wraith or spirit. I appear to be here in the flesh strangely. I
also no longer sense the grail, or anything of a magical nature form that matter.
"Wonderful combat is so much more thrilling when your life is at stake."
I began wandering into the city. It smelled frankly awful. But the sights and
sounds were quite fascinating. I was attracting a lot of stares, it was uncomfortable.
"Why is there a Japanese man in feudal clothing walking around?"
"Are they filming some sort of movie?"
"Is he a Corpo?"
"Doesn't look like it."
Etc.
They were using a lot of unfamiliar terms.
Strangely despite being here in the flesh. All my abilities as if I were summoned are
present. Unless they said something that I couldn't possibly have context for I
could understand them. I erased my presence through controlling my
fighting spirit at some point. The stares were bothersome.
I wandered around the city and took in the sights. Lots of gang violence.
"Hmm Jacked and coke? Seems to be a bar of some sort."
I was about to enter when I noticed two people. A young man in a yellow coat and a very strange looking young woman. They were trying to break into a car.
I was curious were this was going so I walked up behind them and watched my instincts told me something fun would happen. As I watched they were completely oblivious my presence.
It was at shortly after this point I was certain this was not the version of Earth I was familiar with. I found out the boy was named David and the girl Rebecca. The people here were strange I picked up a few of their slang terms like "choom" meaning something along the lines of "friend or family". How novel. Or chrome referring to their mechanical enhancements. This world is fascinating. I wonder if humans augmented with these things would be a fun fight.
It was at this point that a woman ran out to meet with them. she had strange multi-color hair and it looked like some of her ancestry could be traced back to my
homeland. They called her Lucy. A man followed shortly after he seemed angry
and was running towards the car. The one called Rebeca moved to try and stop him but only did so briefly. The other two jumped into the car. When the angry man reached beside the car it took off with me on it.
Hm, well for the free ride, information, and entertainment I'll lend you a
hand if you need it. As they were racing down the road. I noticed a car that had tiger motifs on it. They were chasing these people for some reason.
"Shit!"
I heard the one called David shout. It seems these people are not friendly. They
started shooting at us.
"Well, it would be dissatisfying to go out like this so I'll lend you a hand."
I dropped my pseudo concealment. The gangsters stopped firing at us briefly. Understandable, after all from their point of view I appeared out of nowhere. I stood up on the roof of the car drew my sword.
"Why'd they stop shooting?"
I knocked on the roof twice with my foot.
"Eyes on the road boy and allow me to repay you three by being so entertaining."
"Huh!!?"
The car swerved a bit because I surprised them, but it didn't affect my stance.
"Haven't you heard?"
I got into my ready stance. And jumped at the chasing car.
"Cars are just grounded swallows. Hiken: Tsubame Gaeshi!"
The world seemed to slow and lurch in protest as I swung my sword. The three unavoidable strikes that defy the laws of physics as I quickly leapt back on to the car, before anyone could realize I had moved from it.
Time suddenly snapped back into place for everyone else. The pursing car and the
gangsters in it fell into pieces.
Seeing that the threat was gone the girl, Lucy I think they called her, peaked up onto the roof.
"Hello there."
I was smiling and waving because of my good mood.
"Uhhh…hi? Who are you and how did you get there?"
she seemed extremely confused.
"Me? My name is Sasaki Kojiro or at least that how people know me that it is. As for how I got here I've been sitting on this car since you three tried to break
into it."
"Huh?"
"Don't worry about it I was merely curious about you three thats all. My instincts
said something exciting would happen if I followed you and it did. A shame fun
like that doesn't come along often for an old man like me anymore."
I sighed wistfully.
"Okay before we continue this… do you want be insides the car for this?"
"Oh? Yes, that would be lovely."
She doesn't seem used to talking to other too much. she was also extremely guarded and her guard increased when she heard my name as well.
I opened a side door from my position on the roof and flipped into the back seat.
"My this is nice the last time I was in a city never had the chance to ride in one
of these things."
"Are you crazy or something!? How have you never ridden in a car!? And how did you flatline those tyger claw gangers so fast!?"
"I don't know what several of those words mean. But No I'm not crazy. And I used a sword"
I held up my sword as if it was obvious.
They looked at me like I was even crazier.
*sigh*
"You young people never understand the truth is stranger than fiction at times."
"Huh? You look like what 20-30 years old tops"
"Why thank you but I'm actually… wait what year is it?"
The looked at me like I was insane again.
"Its the year 2075. What have you been living under a rock?"
"Hahahaha, in a matter of speaking yes. 2075 huh, I was born around 1575 so that means I'm now… Oof 500 oh how time flies. Hahahaha "
I mean If being dead and buried counted as "living under a rock" then yes.
I think one of them was trying to call for medical help for me.
*sigh*
"You won't believe me even if it's the truth. Oh well I'll just follow you guys for awhile."
"Huh!?"
"I have no money no ID and I know nothing about this time period the time I saw
anything "modern" was in the city of Fuyuki in 2004. And I was only there for around 12-13ish days."
I felt no need to elaborate beyond that point it wasn't their timeline but Imdidn't care it wasn't a lie. They looked a me more with concern and bewilderment than as if I was crazy.
*sigh*
"David let's just get to Aldo's for the job. We will let Maine figure out what to do
with him."
They started whispering to each other. I could hear them, but I would be polite and
let them think I couldn't.
"Alright…but is he okay. He sounds too… lucid and sure of himself to be crazy."
"I think he might be telling the truth as crazy as it sounds. I tried to hack his biomon earlier. But he doesn't have one or any Cyberware for that matter."
David breathed in sharply
"What!? He's completely ganic that's impossible!?"
Ganic? Oh, I get it short for organic. Clever this slang stuff is fun. But cyberware huh. That must be the chrome. I wonder if I could get some. I'm in a non-spirit body for once despite it having my stats. I'm morbidly curious. Obviously body part replacement is out of the question though.
Authors note: wrote this because someone on the discord I'm on thought it would be interesting. I might write more but who knows. I got other fics I working on. No this is not a reincarnation this is just Type/moon Sasaki but he's here now. He seems a very go with the flow I don't care as long as i get a thrill out of it kind of person so I thought he'd fit. Also I know some of Lucy's reactions are probably out of character but honestly how would you react to an apparently completely organic swordsman destroying a car faster than the eye can see. (For those who know me on discord this be Gremlin btw)
