So SB has The Index and SV has Fanworks Discussion.

The purpose of both of these forums seems to be a place for Discussion threads, where people can talk about certain IPs when they're not writing fanfiction.

Here on QQ, we've always been a bit of a smaller forum, so there's never been a subforum like the ones SB and SV have.

However, over the years I've been here I've watched the NSFW Creative Writing section grow from a handful of posts a day to sometimes hundreds of posts per day (proudly I might add, since I feel like I've contributed quite a lot to that)

These days we've got a lot more activity, a lot more stories, and a lot more discussion threads all vying for space in our NSFW Creative Writing section.

My suggestion is that it may be time to give Index, Idea, and Discussion threads their own subforum, as the first two pages of the NSFW Creative Writing section are currently 18 Discussion threads vs. 22 Story threads. Doesn't seem like the two types of threads should be vying/fighting for prominence but it feels like they have been.

It may not be time to do so quite yet, but I'm wondering if it's something the staff might look into for the future, either the near future or the far future, so I'm bringing it up now to try and see how everyone else feels about it.

Seems like a good idea in principle. The question is just when to do it, such that the subforums created will still have the critical mass necessary to attract posters. The risk is that some of the subforums wither and die, or worse, that splitting the critical mass currently in NSFW CrW causes a drop in participation overall.

I don't have enough of a finger on the pulse to say when the critical point might be, so I'll leave that input to the other staff.

Sounds good. I'm of the opinion that given just how much traffic a lot of the discussion threads get and how huge they've grown in the time some of them have been in existence, that they're unlikely to die even if moved to a subforum.

But yeah, I've never ran or helped run a forum before, so you guys would probably no better on how and when best to do things.

So I just noticed that the Worm Ideas thread was unstickied in the NSFW Creative Writing, and because I consider this a step in the wrong direction, I figured I'd come speak my mind here again.

We really do need a subforum for Creative Writing Discussion. As it stands now, Discussion threads drown out the actual Creative Writing threads, giving real stories less time on the first page of the NSFW Creative Writing Forum and thus less exposure to readers who may enjoy and review them.

This is one of my favorite websites. Its the first one on my bookmarks. The first thing I open in the morning when I start up google chrome. And a large part of that is because the only two complaints I can make about this place is the occasional kinkshaming, and the fact that the NSFW Creative Writing section is more about discussion than actual creative writing. These two things are small problems and the former is usually taken care of gently by fellow users. The latter though, I feel really does need to be addressed.

Thanks for your time.

QQ's one of my homepages too. :)

I agree that it seems sensible, although it's a fairly minor issue.

Thank you so much for implementing this suggestion.

Dunno about anyone else, but it looks to me like the NSFW CrW forum page is broken as fuck. Half the threads are stuck displaying no new posts, no reply or view count, and no OP or creation time. They're also displaying despite me having ignore'd them, which is the most annoying part.

They have said this transition will take 1-3 days. Give it a bit more time for them to finish what they're doing and clean up behind them.

If you click on them, they'll get you to the thread in index....

So its more a matter of "Eventually the actual Creative Writing threads will push all those index thread links off the front page"

I thought it might be, works just fine with me.

More like they'll expire in due time and get auto-deleted.
