I finished reading the comic recently, but I would like to learn more about how the mechanics of the universe works in martial arts and the Art. So! I tried the board game, but between the fact that I've never played one in my life and that I'm too stupid to read between the lines, I am a bit... lost.

Does anyone know any fanfiction that can help me understand a little more about everything?

There aren't a whole lot of fanfics for K6BD AFIK, there are five fics on Spacebattles, four of them are crossovers, and two of them are SIs.

Yeah, there aren't a whole lot of fics, the fanbase isn't exactly active in that regard, there is some fan content, but it's mostly just discussing the series.

EDIT: Should probably gon on the subreddit or just make an account and ask questions on the site the webcomic is posted on if you want to learn about the mechanics of the setting. Also, all of the fics on SB only have a small handful of chapters at best, and haven't updated since at least 2019.

'Cause they haven't really internalized that?

Preem Nand knew Allison as an In Waaaaaaaaay Over Her Head Girl getting dragged around by an angel and with basically nothing but a Key in her head.

001 saw her as some pitiful thief that got to the heart of Yre that if she personally wasn't about to murder, it would be her own teammate.

Vash saw her as that "In over her head" girl at first and then later saw her as a brawler that, yes did clean out his bar but also got her shit pushed in by K I L L B O S S until she got bailed out by White Chain.

The rest don't really know her at all by anything other than reputation and who have at least two allies who probably told them that her rep is inflated as fuck and Allison mostly gets by via dumb luck and strong allies.


Incubus may or may not have warned them that she's been hitting the gym since they last saw her, but how seriously they take that is another matter entirely.

Besides the one's Fenrir listed there's also Reach Heaven Through Justice (Young Justice/K6BD). Wouldn't surprise me to learn there were a few others that don't have tags related to K6BD either.

With the previous godship armada for Allison, it's like, ok, the point is that they give whatever they can to forestall the apocalypse. Even if it is a little. Even if they're just gnats. Even if all together they're going to buy maybe two seconds. Because it is the best they can do.

But well, Incubussy is a bishie sword saint. He knows these things. He learned that same cutting art, and can back it up with a key.

It seems like the giant of giant ships cost him tons of time to get. If he knows it will go down in ten seconds under expected opposition...It's almost pointless. Like, why bother? Is this the best he can do, truly? It seems like he'd have used his time better to take on even just one loyal disciple to train in sword arts.


KSBD is sometimes a world of cardboard, sapients of steel situation. Not on the low level, but as things get closer to top granite becomes styrofoam. The rulers would want to have their palaces, subject to thine aesthetics. Rulership of faceless tortured slaves for its own sake. But I don't think Jagganoth will care one iota unless you revive the gods making up ships.


Maybe its a thing where Krillin moments don't quite work in reverse, with heroes. Not without taking time to estabilish Krillin as meaningful.



...See, the berserkers could be good, if they would engage Maya in series of one-on-one honorable duels. Take advantage of narrative logic against your foes and all. Buying time. Shame he seems to discarded all notions of individuality in servants present before, if only as threads to manipulate with.

And they won't be sword saints - otherwise he'd have them as the artillery batteries.



I haven't read all deep KSBD lore. And the art is amazingly beatiful as ever. But the story/worldbuilding here doesn't work for me...Even Allisons explanation to the readers doesn't satisfy me. Because he should have done better if that was his goal. Yet, I don't think Incubus is quiet quitting.
